The streamers and banners are up. So are a zillion multi-colored helium balloons.

The floor is cleared, and the bandstand is up at the north side of the room, ready for Dusted Bunnies to take their places.

The refreshment table, with the (as yet) unspiked punch is in place. There are chips and stuff as well, Chex mix, a few nachos and some guacamole.

Aeryn's not blushing at all, but then again, they are in a shadowy corner where no one's probably going to hear them. "You also got called into the dean's office. But this is definitely a plan I can get behind."

"We'll have to institute the start of the plan sometime later," John says. "And that was the first time getting called into the dean's office, after all. Only once."

"Well, yeah, probably." Remembering something, John grins again. "But the lady on the radio likes me!"

"I have no idea why, I didn't do anything," he says quickly. "I gave her a quill pen as a gift."

And because it's dark, John kisses her. Not so much a public display of affection as a semi public kind of dark display of affection.

If it wasn't dark, Aeryn wouldn't kiss him back. Probably. Not for this long, at least. It's hard not to sometimes.
