Cally, braving the lunch room for the very first time, grabs two Hem un Chees-a sundveeches and some Surge. Because Surge is the best drink EVER, she just doesn't know it yet.

She sits down and starts to enjoy her sundveech. Because Ham and Cheese rocks almost as much as Surge.

Marty comes in for lunch because... Hey... "Hem un Chees-a"!

Apparently Marty forgot the last time he sang ABBA ate a ham and cheese sandwich from the cafeteria.

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-01-11 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Pippi entered the lunch room looking for MacBeth. She was most interested in Hem und Cheese-a sundveeches and Tecus. Pippi loved Tecus.

Per her plan with MacBeth (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomtownies/522928.html?thread=20592048#t20592048), she looked around to see what everybody was eating and if anything interesting had happened yet.

Angela has a very strange look on her face as she joins Marty with her lunch of yogurt and a granola bar (because no way is she going anywhere near cafeteria food, ever, thanks).

"You like to live on the edge, huh?"

[identity profile] sea-incarnadine.livejournal.com 2006-01-11 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Macbeth wandered his way into the lunch room, instantly veering toward Pippi. He had no idea what any of the items on the menu were supposed to be, and so he had an intense interest not only in discovering if the food was lethal, but if the kids eating it actually seemed to be enjoying it as well.
"Good afternoon, Pippi," he said, nodding in her direction.

[[ooc: We'll just have to make good time until then, hm? Me, I'm here all day. Calling in sick for the win! *sneeze*]]

Love robots? Does anyone else understand the Chef? "Hello, Chef," Ivanova says, yawning a bit. She collects her Pesta Seled and keeps from singing the Bloodhound Gang song that involves 'bork' and goes to find a table.

[identity profile] oatmanspatient.livejournal.com 2006-01-11 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"You know me. I live for danger," Marty said with a grin. "Oh, I picked up something for your parents today."

Marty then pulls out two silver picture frames (still in the box) from his backpack. "I thought maybe you could find a photo of both you and your sister and give them to your parents. Or just you if you want."

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-01-11 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Pippi translated the menu for Macbeth from her native Swedish.

"Pasta salid. Basically cold noodles with some kind of meat in a vinigary sauce. It's not bad."

"Tacos. That's a crunchy envelope with meat and cheese. They can be quite delightful."

"But I think I'm going to go with a Ham and Cheese Sandwich I think. It's pretty much what it sounds like, ham and cheese between two slices of bread with some other stuff... The Chef seems to be making some kind of note to Marty about... music. I would say it indicates he took extra special care with them... So they're probably be the safest."

"Surge is a drink... You'll probably like it."

Angela smiles. "Oh, wow. They should really like these. Thanks so much."

She prods at her yogurt with her spoon, stirring it before she takes a bite. "Is the gremlin bite meeting thingie tonight something you're doing?"

[identity profile] oatmanspatient.livejournal.com 2006-01-11 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"Veronica and I, yeah. Just something to help those of us who had made total fools of ourselves cope a little better," Marty says after swallowing a bit of his sandwich.

He opens his mouth a couple of times to test it. No ABBA.

"You're more than welcome to come join our group if you want. I have no idea how many people are going to show up. Lord knows I've embarassed you enough that you're a defacto Gremlin Bite Victim."

[identity profile] sea-incarnadine.livejournal.com 2006-01-11 06:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Macbeth listened intently, quite willing to learn anything he could about the food that this day and age had to offer. He nodded a little.
"I'll get whatever you'll be having, then. It sounds like ye know what you're talking about."
...
"How do we go about gettin' the food, lass?"
chasingangela: (Face)

[personal profile] chasingangela 2006-01-11 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Angela snorts. "You aren't the one who ended up talking to DEATH and John Crichton about flavored condoms," she says. "I think that's my embarassment for the week. The ferret and muppet chicken sex almost doesn't register."

"But I'll probably skip the meeting, unless you really want me there. Don't want to make you guys self-conscious or whatever."

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-01-11 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"From what I've observed, you get a tray and take what you want." She said putting a Sandwich and a Surge on her try as she slid it down the line. "If there's something you would like to see, I bet you could just ask the chef. He seems very nice."

[identity profile] oatmanspatient.livejournal.com 2006-01-11 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Buh?

"You talked to DEATH and John Crichton about what?"

Marty blinked a couple of times in confusion and decided to just move on with the conversation.

"If you want to be there, that's fine. We'll probably just go all emo about what fools we were. Doesn't sound like a lot fun."

[identity profile] sea-incarnadine.livejournal.com 2006-01-11 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Macbeth followed Pippi's lead, taking a tray for himself and then grabbing a sandwich and a Surge as he followed her down the line.
"Aye, he does seem like a pleasant sort, though I can barely understand what the man is saying." He smiled faintly. He knew he wasn't fooling anyone; he could barely understand what anyone was saying, anymore.
chasingangela: (emo redhead)

[personal profile] chasingangela 2006-01-11 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Angela looks sheepish. "Long story. DEATH was making a safe sex display for the clinic with balloon animals made from condoms. And, um ..." she blushes and stirs her yogurt several times before looking up. "You know what? Let's not relive that conversation. Though Rory and Aeryn Sun both got more embarassed than I did."

"And yeah, I'll skip the gremlin thing. Come find me after, though, maybe we could watch TV or something quiet like that."

[identity profile] oatmanspatient.livejournal.com 2006-01-11 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Marty smiled. A little bit at Angela's sheepishness and moreso the idea of having a quiet night in.

"That sounds pretty nice. You? Me? Minerva?"

[identity profile] imac-kenzie.livejournal.com 2006-01-11 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Mac pulls out a home-made lunch from her bag as she heads to sit down at a table. She can't really understand chef's menu anyway.

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-01-11 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Anders is also braving the lunch room for the first time ever, because he can't let Cally do that alone, can he?

He's opted for the Pesta Seled, though, and his usual extra-tall, extra-chocolatey mocha.

"How's the food, coach?"
chasingangela: (dorky smile)

[personal profile] chasingangela 2006-01-11 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
"And the usual cast of thousands," Angela says, reaching over to squeeze his hand. "One of us should get a TV, someday. But I'll be in the third-floor common room whenever I finish my homework."

"I'll make sure to bring Min, if she isn't busy napping."

[identity profile] sogothcally.livejournal.com 2006-01-11 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"I think I know why Marty likes these so much." Cally says, taking another big bite. "You know, I don't see why everyone was so scared of the place."

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-01-11 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Anders grins and digs into his salad. "You must've missed Hamlet in study hall last semester singing Billy Joel, then."

He chews thoughtfully and is totally not playing footsie with Cally under the table. "It's not bad, though. Pretty good, actually."

[identity profile] oatmanspatient.livejournal.com 2006-01-11 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Marty takes her hand and squeezes back. "Our own TV? That's a pretty good idea. Then no one will yell at me when I try to change the channel when 'Bitterwoman' is on. Maybe I'll go to the emporium on Sat- I mean Sunday and see what they have."

[personal profile] chasingangela 2006-01-11 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"You're obsessed with that show," Angela tells him, then winces. "Hopefully the Librarian won't keep you too long on Saturday. I just cannot tell what goes through his monkey head, at all."

[identity profile] oatmanspatient.livejournal.com 2006-01-11 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Marty smiles thinly and pushes away the rest of his sandwich, hunger now gone.

"Oh, I'm sure it'll be fine. I'll probably have to make him Banana Cream Pie or something like that," he joked with a fake grin on his face.
