Mac gets herself some soup, despite the warnings she'd recieved about cafeteria food, and heads to sit down. It can't be that bad after all.

"Hey, Mac!" Lee says, carrying his sack lunch. "Mind if I sit with you?"

"'Course not." She waves a hand at the very empty table. She still hasnt touched her soup yet. "You had any classes yet this morning?"

"Thanks," he says, sitting down. "Yeah, two of them already," he says, pulling out a sandwich and an apple. "Soch of violence and my psych class on Jung, how about you?"

"So far, just biology, and that wasnt bad. I'm feeling fairly optimistic." She takes a sip of water, "I suppose though, first lessons. Its possible they just want to lure us into a false sense of security or something."

"Nah, the teachers are pretty harmless," Lee says, lying through his teeth, omg.

Mac looks a little unsure but smiles anyway. "So long as they're more harmless than the food, I'll be happy. Professor Sidle seems normal enough at least."

"I had Sidle last semester, she's great," Lee says confidently. "And yeah, I've never really eaten in the cafeteria," Lee admits, pointing to his sack lunch. "I like making my own lunches."

Mac stares at the bowl in front of her."I'm thinking you have a really, really good plan with that... this has lumps in it of something I really don't want to identify, much less eat. You live and learn I suppose."

Lee grins. It's moments like these that he lives for. "I happen to have another sandwich in my bag..." he says kindly, pulling it out and smiling oh so charmingly.

"If its vegan I'll happily take you up that offer... and uh, trade you some putetu suoop?" she offers hopefully, "or perhaps not..."

Lee looks confused. "What's vegan?"

Mac looked confused for a moment, before it registered that other planets may not have vegans on them."Uh, does it have anything related to or orignating from an animal in it?"

Lee looks wounded. "Of course, why?"

"I just not a carnivore, is all." she gives him a smile, "it is of course nothing against your cooking - or sandwich making in this case. More of a moral stand, but I really do appreciate the offer."

"Oh, this must be a cultural thing..." he says, biting his lip. "I'm very sorry if I have offended you."

"Oh, hell no. I'm not the type to get offended, and really nothing wrong with your food." She gave him a re-assuring grin. "It's just a bizarre quirk of mine. Its not even normal where I come from."

Lee flails but keeps it all inside. "Oh. Well, anyway -- err..."

"You still look panicked. Dont worry, really." She drinks the last of her water, still watching him. "I tend to live off coffee and vegetables, probably not the healthiest choice, but it works for me."
