Janet ran towards the library. She'd overslept, and it looked like no one else had gotten it open yet. She flipped on the lights, unloaded the food from last night's shopping trip with Parker, made sure that no one but library staff could get to the food, and sat down to start eating while she finished up her Classics project.

Jake wandered in to the library after delivering the gremlins gifts. He walked over to a table and started pulling things out of his backpack. There were five bracelets (http://pics.livejournal.com/courier_gavin/pic/000kxa7q/g57), a sweater (http://pics.livejournal.com/courier_gavin/pic/000p2rht/g57) with a post-it stuck to it. The post it said: for Master-baby girl. Another sweater (http://pics.livejournal.com/courier_gavin/pic/000p3k32/g57) and lastly a drawing (http://pics.livejournal.com/courier_gavin/pic/000fy05a/g30). He settled down with his new shiny pencils and his sketchbook and waited for the library wenches to notice him.

"Hey," said Janet. "Jake, right? How are you?"

Jake looked up from his sketchbook. He definitely recognized this one. "Hey, yeah, that's me. I'm good. I have something for you," he added and used the back of his pencil to point at the sweater with the post-it and one of the bracelets.

Parker smiled and swallowed the caviar she'd been eating. "Hey, Gavin. What have you got there?"

"Gifts!" Jake called back, using his pencil to pull another bracelet from the pile. "Got a bracelet for you, if you want it."

"Turn down jewelry? Are you nuts?" Parker grinned when she picked it up. "Tiny books! Thank you!"

Jake grinned back. "You're welcome. I got one for each of you. And... stuff," he added vaguely, going back to his sketch (http://pics.livejournal.com/courier_gavin/pic/000q5ke2/g30).

"What are you working on?" Parker asked, admiring the bracelet as she snapped it on her wrist.

Jake shrugged. "Nothing really. Santa girls. Waiting for dad to call, so..."

"Ah," she says, having been in that place herself. Leaning over, she admired the sketch. "Pretty. I like the floating hair. Are you going home for the break, or staying here?"

*pops out from under the Collections Desk, creme fraiche on the corner of her mouth*

Did I hear gifts?

Jake grinned. "You did. I have a bracelet and a drawing (http://pics.livejournal.com/courier_gavin/pic/000fy05a/g30) for you. I'm not so good without models, but I hope you like anyhow." He pointed at it with his pencil.

Oh, this is swerval! Thanks, Jake! *admires drawing* It's very fierce, innit?

"You're welcome," Jake beamed. "And you're a library wench. Library wenches are fierce. Pretend the dude in armour tried to take off with a Special Collections book without proper forms."

*giggles* That makes sense. Thanks! I'll put this on my wall!

"Presents?" Rory asked, tilting her head and walking over. "But you already got me prezzies, Jakey."

"I did," Jake agreed. "But not the bracelet of bookness. So you'll get it now." He pushed one of the remaining bracelets towards her with his pencil.

"They're books!" Rory said happily, slipping the bracelet on. "Thanks, Jakey! You didn't have to do this!"

Jake grinned. "But they're bracelets! With books! Really, how could I resist?"

"You brought gifts?" Angela asks, pausing with a forkful of cheesecake on its way to her mouth. "Anything for me?"

Jake nodded. "Yup. Bracelet and a sweater (http://pics.livejournal.com/courier_gavin/pic/000p3k32/g57). Come get."

Angela puts down her plate and takes the presents. "Oh, a book bracelet! That's awesome."

She laughs when she reads the sweatshirt. "This is really cute," she says. "It's a total lie -- the hair comes out of a box -- but whatever. I still count as a redhead, right?"

"You totally do," Jake grinned. "At least to me, and I'm the gift-giver, so what I say goes."

"Oh, thanks," said Janet. She read the post-it and frowned. "Is this from, uh, Coach Ash? It's a beautiful bracelet, though, and the sweater's kind of fun-looking too."

"No, it's from me, I just couldn't remember you name," Jake explained.
