Janet opens up the library after the omg, posted late, noes! Criminal Justice final. She flips on the lights, goes behind the Collections Desk, and starts silently cursing the stupid little gray aliens that sent her back to high school, finals, the whole concept of papers and the grading system in place in the United States today.

She scrawls out a sign on a piece of paper and posts it on the door:

PLEASE TURN IN YOUR OVERDUE LIBRARY BOOKS
BEFORE THE END OF THE TERM

(OR WE'LL SEND ZERO AFTER YOU
WITH HER MALLET)

Angela blinks a few times, then opens and closes her mouth.

Then she says. "Um ... good to hear. I guess. I mean, that Angel didn't get too happy. Not that Veronica slapped you. Why did she do that, anyhow?"

"And is it just me, or has this week been exponentially weird, even without finals?"

"Um... she slapped me due to a misunderstanding. I thought she slept with Angel when she really didn't, so she thought I was implying that she was- nevermind. Yes. This week has been very weird."

Marty sighs and gives Angela a small grin.

"Can I tell you how much I'm looking forward to Friday?"

Angela laughs at this. "Poor Veronica. I think she gets the least actual action of anybody in the rumor mill as a slut." She thinks. "Possibly, like, no action. I feel sorry for her. So good for her for slapping you."

"And I am also looking forward to tomorrow, a lot."

"Yeah, well I apologized for it, but I guess I had it coming," Marty says with a weary look on his face.

"Now just out of curiousity, what exactly is the traditional three month anniversary gift? If one month is pasta, does that make the third month fish or beef?"

"Chicken, I think," Angela says. "Not really sure."

A perplexed expression crosses her face. "Speaking of chicken, did Camilla move out or something? I haven't seen her since before Thanksgiving."

"She's been avoiding me ever since she found out I eat eggs. Apparently it's a sore subject for her."

"Well, yeah. They're, like, potential chickens. Though I'm surprised she hasn't noticed the egg white thing before."

"She's only a muppet chicken so I'm guessing she's not quite as bright when it comes to these things." Marty leans up against the bookshelf and grins.

"So is there anything I should bring to this indoor picnic tomorrow?"

"You," Angela says, with a wicked grin. "I can cover the rest of it."

She thinks. "Actually? I think your ID is way better than mine. If you could, um, get some red wine I would really love you for it."

Marty returns the grin. "What exactly are you planning to cover me with?" "I think I can swing the wine, but only if you really mean with that love thing."

Angela kisses him in a way that is not entirely library-appropriate. "I mean it," she says.

Marty sighs contently and returns the kiss, making sure no one is watching them. "Good. I'll definitely bring a bottle then."

"I look forward to it," Angela says.

She steps back. "You seem happy, you know that? It's nice to see."

"It's easy enough when you're around. I'll let you get back to your job before Pierson says anything. I'll catch up with you later?"

"Later," Angela says, giving him a quick kiss.

She walks back tot he Collections desk.
