Library (12/15/05)

Janet opens up the library after the omg, posted late, noes! Criminal Justice final. She flips on the lights, goes behind the Collections Desk, and starts silently cursing the stupid little gray aliens that sent her back to high school, finals, the whole concept of papers and the grading system in place in the United States today.

She scrawls out a sign on a piece of paper and posts it on the door:

PLEASE TURN IN YOUR OVERDUE LIBRARY BOOKS
BEFORE THE END OF THE TERM

(OR WE'LL SEND ZERO AFTER YOU
WITH HER MALLET)

Parker came in, tired but happy, wearing her new necklace and oh my god so glad Finals are over I can't tell you.

"Good morning, Parker. I like the necklace."

"Thanks." Parker flicked out Tinkerbell from the chain, and smiled. "Gift from Jake Gavin for posing for him."

Then she pouted at Methos, remembering that he was leaving.

"So, if I sit in your History class and ask lots of annoying questions, are you going to pretend you don't know me?"

[identity profile] prof-methos.livejournal.com 2005-12-15 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"No. If you sit in my history class and ask annoying questions I will mock you mercilessly. Much more fun that way."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-12-15 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yay. I look forward to telling everyone that you take coffee bribes and have sword issues," Parker responded, grinning. "I think some of the others might be signing up for your classes too. You're not getting away from us *that* easily."

[[War of the glasses removal! Dun-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh-DUNDUNDUNDUN!]

"Oh, it never occured to me that I'd be getting away from any of you. You are all unholy terrors, but you're my unholy terrors." Methos grinned cheerfully at her.

[[I got the shades, I win! Dun dun DUN!]]

"That's so sweet. And twisted. But it's nice to know you realize we still own your soul." Parker spun on her stool, then stopped and grinned. "So. What, exactly, are you teaching?"

[identity profile] prof-methos.livejournal.com 2005-12-15 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"Western Civ from pre-history to 1350 and Medieval English history. And I have most of the syllabus worked out and the grading scale and everything already. I'm such a freak. Do either of those sound interesting?"

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-12-15 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"I've taken enough Western Civ to last me 'til Doomsday. Medieval English might have potential, though. Swords, Robin Hood, King Arthur...." Parker smiles at him wickedly, wondering if he'll take the bait. It's not compulsive unless you're cackling like a maniac.

Methos smiled thinly at her, aware he was being baited. "I didn't say fairy tales, Parker. I said history. Political machinations, scandals, stupid mistakes, drama queens and all."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-12-15 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"So, Passions with crossbows? Cool." Parker spun again. "Like Eleanor of Aquitaine. Or is she Renaissance? I can never keep that straight." She stopped spinning and cocked her head. "So what *did* you specialize in for History? You knew all about Cleopatra, and now it's English history. As well as being a Librarian. How many degrees do you have?"

[identity profile] prof-methos.livejournal.com 2005-12-15 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"Take the history class, Parker. I'll straighten you out. And who said I specialized in a time period? Maybe my focus was Women in History."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-12-15 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"That, I have no trouble believing somehow. Sounds like something you'd enjoy for the glam factor." Parker smirked.
