Wesley strides into the Library, looking neither to right nor left, and heads for the Circulation Desk. You might notice that he's a bit white about the lips. "I believe I have a library card to pick up."

Angela approaches him, looking a little worried and a little giggly. "You might," she says. "Um, want to tell me your name and grade so I can find the file?"

"Wesley Wyndam-Pryce. Senior."

Angela nods at this, then riffles through the files until she finds Wesley's.

Along with a musical score, there's a note in it that says, "Card in secure location, to be dispensed by Janet Frasier only."

"I can't do this," Angela explains. "Let me go find Janet. I think she's, um, really concerned about identity theft lately. Sorry."

She keeps a straight face and is certainly not giggling behind her hand as she goes to hunt down the other aide. Nope. She's just wiping some crumbs away from her mouth.

"Hey, Angela," said Janet. She wondered what was so amusing. And then she glanced back and saw Pryce. "What's going on?" she asked with her best innocent expression.

"He needs his card, and the file says you're the only one who can give it to him. Also that as an, um, security measure, he needs to sing at least one song from an Andrew Lloyd Weber musical."

Janet unlocked her ~~omg, private, she hid all the other keys~~ drawer and reached underneath a bag of chocolate to pull out Pryce's library card.

She grinned evilly at Angela. "Welcome to your first lesson in tormenting the library patrons. Pryce owes us a song, yes. And possibly a concurrent dance number. Do you want to be the one to break the news to him?"

Angela sucks in her breath. "I hate doing that to someone, but I need to learn, right? And if he made Zero a cat, he deserves it. So, yeah, I'll do it."

A few minutes later, a flustered-looking Angela reappears bearing Wesley's card and the scrore to Cats.

"Okay, we have it, but ... it looks like you do have to sing something from this musical, and the library would like it if you danced, too. Then you get the card."

Wesley plants both hands on the counter and leans in.

"I did not turn your co-worker into a cat. If I had turned your co-worker into a cat, the Dean would have taken action. He did not. Ipso facto, whatever happened to your co-worker had nothing to do with me. ~~And if it had, being a cat would be the least of her problems.~~

He sends a comprehensive glare at Zero and Janet. "I repeat. I. Had. Nothing. To. Do. With. It."

*looks utterly unimpressed* Oh, but you did. At least, so close as we can tell. Not that it matters as to whether or not you're singin'. Because you so squallin' are.

Wesley glances around the room for support; he finds none.

"This has nothing to do with your transformation, and you know it." He holds up a hand. "This has to do with the fact that you don't like me; I assure you, it's mutual.

Nonetheless, this library is common ground. Whether or not the Dean has ceded all control to you, this is a necessary part of the school infrastructure; if you deny access to it, you are effectively making the school less than academically acceptable.

I'll meet you halfway. One song, in the karaoke bar downtown. 7 PM. Meet me there, or we can take this up with the entire chain of authority; I may not enjoy that, but neither will you."

Angela is very, very tired. "Look, I don't even know you, so don't tell me whether I like you or not, okay?" Angela says. "I don't really care whether you sing or not -- other than that it will make today a little less boring for me -- but, like, people who have seniority do. So, whatever, the karaoke bar works for me. I can't go, 'cause I have poetry then, but like I said, it's not my thing. I can't talk for Zero or Janet or Parker."

He turns from Zero to Angela. "Can you at least promise that will be the end of this nonsense? Because I am frankly tired of having a hand-to-hand fight every time I want to consult a book."

Oh, for the love of squall. No one is restricting your right to access the library, which I assure you, we have done before. Angelus didn' take too kindly to it, but turns out Parker was right, so whatever. You've been comin' an' goin' without bein' bothered all along.

We've already taken this up with the chain of authority once. As you well know. You will get your library card, once you have fulfilled the requirements for such as set forth by the library staff...really, you're only makin' this harder on yourself.

((And while Zero has no IC reason to turn you down, I'm going to Christmas dinner with friends who are leaving the state tomorrow in about fifteen minutes. I likely won't be back tonight.))

The card, however, is not in the file. But Angela may remember Janet mentioning she'd had Pryce's library card locked up in a secure place.

After leaving Marty and company, Angel passed by Wesley.

At first he walked right past Wesley. Then he paused.

He turned around and stared.

*barely looking up* Hi, Angel. Here for the show?

"Show?" Angel asked. He seemed distracted.

Yeah. If he wants that library card, he's gonna have to work for it...are you all right?

"I'm great," Angel grinned. "So what's the show? Is there going to be dancing? Maybe even nudity?"

Um. No. To the nudity. Ew. There might be dancing?

"There may very well be dancing," murmured Janet. "But there will definitely be singing."
