Rory wandered in, looking decidedly hungover.

"Hey, Rory," Parker greeted her. "You look like hell. How are you feeling?"

"Like hell," Rory replied gloomily. "I will never ever ever drink again. Ever."

"I take it you went straight from Caritas to a bottle, after you left," Parker said. "Talk to Veronica Mars yet?"

"No. Don't really want to. And I haven't talked to Logan yet, and I need to," Rory groaned. "Also? Do not drink anything that did not come from Earth. Bad idea. Very, very strong."

"If it's anything like Kara Thrace's cigars, I feel for you," Parker said. "Where'd you get your poison? I hung around talking to Jarod after you guys left. He never serves me alcohol."

"Um. Anakin," Rory muttered, not meeting Parker's eyes.

Parker blinked. Then stared at Rory.

"Skywalker? Let me see if I have this straight. You had a fight with Echolls. You stomped off. Then you got drunk with your buddy the Jedi, who does ridiculous favors for you." Parker paused. "Yeah, that's not weird."

"He's just a friend," Rory said, throwing her hands up in frustration. "And nothing happened." She winced. "It doesn't help, though, does it?"

"That receding spot in the distance? That's the moral high ground you needed to hold to make Echolls suffer." Parker shook her head. "Not that he'll hear about it from me. Oh, and, fun fact: he and Veronica never had sex, according to her."

"Could've fooled me," Rory said softly. "And he'll hear it from me, if he still needs to. Kind of confused about that, acutally." She shot Parker a look. "Don't ask. Long story. But I need to talk to him. This whole thing has blown up."

"Super. Okay." Parker held her hands up. "Let me know where to stand so I'm out of the way."

Marty waves at Rory with a look of concern. "Hey. How you holding up?"

"Bleh. Not so much with the 'holding up,'" Rory replied, making a face. "How're you?"

"Pretty good. Hectic but good." Marty makes sure that Angela isn't around and speaks quietly. "I wanted to thank you again for helping me pick out Angela's gift in Chicago. I think she'll really like them."

"No problem," Rory said, offering a thin smile. "It was fun. And I think she'll love them."

Marty hesistates for a second like he's debating something.

"I'm sorry about what happened last night between you and Logan. I kind of felt like Angela and I abadoned you."

Rory shook her head, and then winced. "Yeah, don't worry about it. If you'd stuck around it would've been really uncomfortable for you guys. Don't blame you."

Marty nodded. "Still. Feel pretty crummy about it. So if you need to talk to anyone... I mean I'm not Logan's biggest fan or anything so I'll be happy to listen to you gripe about him if you want," he said jokingly.
