After kicking out everyone who wasn't a library aide, a Librarian, or incipient club member, Parker hung a sign on the outside door:

INVESTIGATOR'S CLUB MEETING
PRIVATE

Then adjourned to the counter, where the brownies, drinks, cookies, and fudge were.

Hopefully, more than just Marty, Zero, Janet and the Souled Wonder were going to show.

The Tick, having walked in late ~~as if he hadn't seen the e-mail and had to figure out last minute if he could remain IC for his own plot while still showing up here~~ was quiet as he took in everything that was said.

"It sounds like a very good idea, Parker," Tick said simply. "I'd be glad to help."

"Thanks, sir. I appreciate it, given, uh. The whole gremlin encounter," Parker said, wincing.

"What gremlin encounter?" Tick asked, confused. "All I remember is the Campus Beautification Committee..."

"Nevermind! Notimportant. Long story," Parker said, getting her breath back. "Anyway, you and Lockheed would definitely be assets to the club."

"I'm glad to do whatever I can to help," Tick said, still rather quietly.

"So you're The Tick?" asked Jenny. She tilted her head and studied his costume. "Nice outfit."

"Yes, I am," Tick said. He was generally more enthusiastic than this. "Miss Calendar, right? The new psychology professor?"

"You got it," said Jenny. "Gosh, everyone knows who I am. I must be the only new kid around. So you're a superhero type?" Having never met Tick, Jenny didn't know he was often more enthused.

"Well, that, and Parker also said your name." Tick smiled slightly at that.

Jenny grinned. "You know, that might have something to do with it too. So what do you teach?"

"Criminal Justice," Tick said. "It's pretty much right up my alley. The whole superhero thing and all."

"Neato," said Jenny. "So what's your superpower?"

"I'm pretty strong and nigh-invulnerable. They're handy powers to have." Tick seemed somewhat desperate to move the discussion away from himself while talking to the psychology professor.

"So what brings you here, Miss Calendar?"

"Teaching psych, mostly," said Jenny. "Also? I've got plans to make sure that he--" She gestured at Angel. "--keeps his soul firmly stuck inside himself. You like?"

"It definitely sounds like a good idea," Tick replied.
