Having cleared a lot of cataloging in the last few days, Methos finally retires to his office to open the package that came for him on Monday.

Janet gave Methos a look. "Not a persuasive argument in the least," she said.

"First, because the library assistants are also invited, and you want to make sure we don't get in trouble off school grounds. Second, because you can see the Field's window display omg, they're changing the name, rage!, and third, because we're all very responsible, capable individuals who won't cause you any trouble at all. If you believe that, I've got some wonderful land in a place called Chulak to sell you. Also, it would actually be very wrong to ask Daniel to do it."

Janet held up a brochure. "Besides, I've never been to the Art Institute. See? Cultural experience. I'll even be nice and say please."

"You okay?" asked Janet. "Feeling all right?" They really were responsible, capable individuals. They just attracted trouble like a magnet sometimes.

"And the fact that Daniel's dating a student is why he should never sponsor a school event that I go on," said Janet. She gave him another look. "It would be highly improper."

Janet smiled at him. "Thank you." She pulled a folded piece of paper out of her pocket and handed it to Methos. "It's just a few people. The Colorado folks and the library assistants."

Unfortunately, Janet hadn't realized that her guest list had gotten mixed up with the list of people who had books on hold for them. Guess which list was given to Methos in a comedically perfect--yet highly improbable--incident?
