Inside... Dean Bristow sits, looking over some plans...

"Hello, Anakin! Let's see... Music. Banthabell. Huh." Tick looked at the box. It didn't speak to him.

"Rory? Do you have any suggestions for our musical accompaniment?"

"Um." Rory surveyed Anakin thoughtfully. "I suppose we could dress him in something traditional, but take it in another direction, since he's not technically part of the nativity. Like, something fitting with the Christmas theme."

She tried very hard to keep her face straight. "Do you think that if we somehow got ahold of a Santa suit it would be completely inappropriate? Barring that, there were animals present at the birth, and we could work with that."

"I have a Santa Suit in mind for someone else. He could be an elf!" Tick glanced at Anakin and pondered. "No. Not very elflike. How about an angel?"

"An angel could work," Rory said. "We don't have one yet, as far as I know. There were tons present." She frowned. "I have some angel wings I could lend to the project, if we need them. They have feathers." She tilted her head, looking at Anakin. "He certainly could pull off 'angelic' if he put work into it."

Tick went to the box and found something that was perfect. "~~We have an Angel already, as it turns out.~~ Wait! This is perfect!"

Tick pulled out a full costume that a 14th Century Minstrel would have worn. "What better way to celebrate Christmas than with a Minstrel?"

Anakin looked at Rory, The Tick and the tights.

His smile was strained. "Thank you?" he said, his voice making it very much a question. "And it absolutely must be, um," he looked down at the fabric. "Light blue?"

"It was a popular color for the season back in the 14th Century!"

"And it brings out your eyes," Rory added, smiling encouragingly.

"See, Anakin? It's the perfect costume to celebrate the beginnings of Christmas!"

Anakin, totally not secretly happy that Rory thought the outfit would bring out his eyes, looked down at the outfit, then back at The Tick and Rory.

"Well, it's your holiday," he said, shrugging.

Not any weirder than that Harvest Festival on Borealis. Then he'd been painted blue.

And it had brought out his eyes.

"And besides, it can't be worse than whatever they're going to stick me in," Rory said a trifle grimly.

"I'll be sure you have a very nice costume, Rory. Just like Anakin's!" Tick said sincerely.

"You're in this, too?" Anakin grinned. "Excellent." He shook his costume at her. "I don't know, though. Light blue tights are kinda tough to beat."

"Dean Bristow hasn't even given me my part," Rory frowned. "And I'm kind of worried he might make something up for me." She glanced at the tights. "It happened to you, after all."

"What's the worst that could happen?" Anakin said with a smirk. "The powder blue tights and Mary's part are already taken. Given this school, they're probably bringing in actual barnyard animals." He shrugged. "I guess they could dress you as a dreidl or something, but that doesn't seem quite the Dean's style."

The Tick, overhearing the dreidl comment, was hoping Anakin was right. He had already put the table aside for John's costume. He wasn't sure how he'd make a dreidl costume.

Rory's eyes went wide, and her features dropped into a pout. "Oh no, don't give people ideas. I'll end up a dreidl or a reindeer or a snowperson or something awful."

Tick also overheard Rory as he was looking for something for Bridge. He mentally crossed "reindeer" off his list. Rory would probably object to "elf," as well.

Anakin's eyes went a little wide. "Um, I'm sure you won't, really. The Dean is very fair," he babbled. He tried to think of something that would be Rory-appropriate. "Maybe, like, um, the Ewok gift fairy?" His blushed crimson. "Which isn't even this holiday. Uh, ignore me."

"Aren't Ewoks those short teddy bear-like things?" Rory asked, looking vaguely insulted. "Either you or Han told me about them awhile back. Do you have some kind of Christmas-like holiday with an Ewok gift fairy?"

"Well, the Ewoks do," Anakin said. "The Jedi aren't so big on celebrations of our own, but we'll participate in the ones on a planet we might be visiting." He looked down with a slight grimace at the costume in his hand. "Wouldn't want to be rude."

He shuffled his feet. "And it's not a bad thing to be an Ewok. They have these great big eyes and they're generally cuddly and adorable."

If someone was ever going to spontaneously combust through sheer embarrassment, it would be Anakin Skywalker right about now.

"Cuddly and adorable?" Rory arched a brow, and smiled. "I can work with that." She sighed, and tried to look solemn. "I'll really have to stretch my acting abilities on that one, though, since I am anything but cuddly and/or adorable."

"Yeah, it'll be a real challenge for you," Anakin said with a grin. "You might have to stay up late working on getting just the right facial expressions. Ewok facial expressions are a subtle art." He snickered. "Not really. Think Vladdie, slightly toned down, and you've got a good idea of a typical Ewok."

He blushed again. "Not that I'm comparing you to a dog. Blast. Um." He stared at the floor. "Why is there never a trap door when you could really use one?"

"I didn't think you were making that comparison," Rory giggled. "But I really, really want to meet an Ewok now. They sound so cute."

"As for the trap door, it would be too convenient," she sighed. "Trust me, I had to endure a painfully descriptive explanation of lesb-" She broke off, blushing scarlet. "Um, suffice it to say that Tara and Shane are not shy. At all."

Anakin's eyebrows shot up. "Seriously?" he squeaked. "How des...I mean, how embarrassing for you."
