The Library (Thursday)

Around ten, Zero comes by the library and, realizing it's still locked down, sets about opening it up. The first person to enter will find that half of the lights are still off and a very pissed-off pink cat is sitting on the Circulations Desk.

"Yes. He's been a dog for day or so now." Parker kneels by him, feeling guilty. "Aww. Cam, you poor thing. I'm sorry, I had to--" She slaps her forehead. "What am I saying?"

But she still helps Cam get untangled from the stool. And scritches him behind the ears.

I think...I need a drink. [Ten eyes the dog--Cameron--with a vaguely sympathetic glance.]

*POP!*

*Congratulations! Ten is now holding a very pissy girl! In a kilt!*

Holy mother of GOD! [The Doctor drops her unceremoniously to the floor.] Ms Hopeless-Savage, why are you in a kilt?

*bangs her head on the desk* OW! Mind the brain!

I dunno; it fell out of the closet this morning? You speak Cat! Why didn' you tell me you spoke Cat?!

...you never asked? And I don't speak it well.

*under her breath* I noticed.

*out loud* I'm sorry, Professor, I've been a bit preoccupied with--KEEP THAT DOG AWAY FROM ME--calm, calm, I'm calm. May I help you?

[He looks bemused.] Just getting a book, don't worry on my account. Do YOU need any help?

*Stands up, brushing herself off.* I'm fine. If you need any help, just call. And, sorry about the, er--*vague wavy hand gesture*--pink. On your shirt.

It'll wash. [He picks at the pink cat hair.] Thank you, Ms Hopeless-Savage. [And he wanders off to the card catalogue, looking for Memoirs of a Geisha.]

Cameron feels guilty now for charging after Zero. This instinct thing is starting to worry him. He gets up and pads over to Zero, pushing his muzzle into her hand.

/I'm sorry./ He whines softly.

*Zero pats Cam and leans over to whisper in his ear.*

Look, I know it's hard, but you've gotta keep it under control, yeah? You're Cam. You're a person.

He nods and licks her nose.

/I know. It won't happen again./ He replies even though he knows she won't understand it.

"Ow," Parker tells Zero, pointing to her own scalp. "And are you okay?"

I think you can spare a bit of hair more than I could've handled bein' gnawed on. But, sorry.

I'll be fine once my heart rate goes back to normal. SQUALL.

Parker shakes her head. "No problem. I know it kind of takes you over." She scowls at Cam, shaking her head. "Case in point." She cocks her head at Zero. "Do you need to go chill out somewhere else?"

I'm fine. He doesn' want to eat me now.

"That's really really reassuring. Really."

Cameron whimpers and whines as he's being scowled at.

*Looks worriedly at Cam and sets down his tuna.*

Parker, does he seem more...regressed than I was? Usually?

Scritches are good. Cameron whines pathetically and leans into Parker's hand. He's calmed down enough from the tumble to remind himself that the cat is Zero and that he really shouldn't try to charge at her like that.

Although, Marty's waving a ball. That could be interesting. But scritches are nice. Ear scritches are very very nice.

Parker checks him over, then scritches under his chin one last time before putting her hands on her hips. "Are you going to behave now? Jeez. Because I don't want to have to call Vala, and tell her to get you a choke chain. That's so wrong I'm going to pretend I didn't just say it. So behave, okay?"

Cameron whimpers and hangs his head. He covers his muzzle with a paw and as his ears droop, he looks like a picture of sorry.

"Awwwwwwww." Parker can't resist patting him on the head, and giving another ear-scritch. "You chase Zero again, and I'm locking you in a cabinet," she says cheerfully. "But otherwise, it's all good with me. You really should apologize to her, though."
