Lee hesitates before saying, "and it's generally good knowlege, you know, for someone going into the service..."

"True, true," Parker commiserates with a poker face. "I mean, unless you get involved with another officer, there's stuff anyone would have problems with... does your army, or fleet, or whatever, have fraternization regs?" she asked, curious. "Because I know you and Valerii are both in the military, but I don't know if yours is like Earth's."

Lee had never thought of that before really. "Frat regs? Yeah, they're in our system too but ... it's kind of less of a big deal in the Colonies as women officers aren't such a taboo like here in on Earth -- which I think leads to more fraternization than is good people..."

Parker laughs. "I guess I can see that. Ours are in place mostly to avoid anyone being taken advantage of, but I suppose if you're used to women soldiers, it doesn't happen as often." She shrugs. "What does your mom do, if she's not military?"

"She's a fashion designer actually," Lee says.

Parker's eyes lit up. "Seriously? I don't suppose you've got pictures of her designs, do you?"

Lee grins, "I have a book of her work on my coffetable, actually."

"Cool. Mind if I come by sometime and borrow it? I'd love to see what off-world fashion is like." She grins. "Did you get to see her over Thanksgiving break?"

"Sure! Anytime -- you've been to my room, right?" He grins back. "And yeah, saw her over break. She's..." he looks down and laughs, "I love my mom."

"Yeah, I've been there." Parker grins. "And... you're lucky. I'm glad you had a good break." She glares over at Angel, then sighs. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some intimidation-by-glowering to do."
