The Library Is Open (11/29/05)
The Library Salamander has decided his name is "Dante". This was decided by incinerating all the other options.
The librarian is working on paperwork today. Annoy at own risk.

He pulls an application from underneath the desk and puts it in front of Lockheed. "Ah... blue or black ink, and no blood, please. I think we can forgive scorch marks, though."

But now he had a more pressing problem. Being a dragon meant that he had some difficulty writing with a pen. Then he saw Janet and looked at her pleadingly.

Janet picks up the pen and turns the application around. "Okay, name, we've got." She fills in 'Lockheed' on the first line. "Is Lockheed your full name?"

He nodded to the question about his name.

"Okay, so you're not faculty, staff, or a student--" She frowned at the form and crossed out the 'class of' line, since Lockheed wasn't a student. "I think 'Special Assistant' works here, don't you?"
no subject
Lockheed nodded. "Special Assistant" was fine by him.

"Next line. Shoot. What room do you live in?" asked Janet. She frowned at the application. "Let's narrow this down: You're on the first floor, right? With the Tick?"

She settled for writing '141' on the application.
"That part was easier than I thought. Luckily, it's a fairly simple application. Species? We'll go with dragon. Sound good?"
She also resisted the urge to ask if Lockheed knew what the Latin name for his species was.

Lockheed nodded again in response to Janet's question.

Janet was very annoyed that her comment didn't post."Okay, last thing we need is a signature," said Janet
in a very pared-down version of what she'd come up with. She studied Lockheed for a minute. "Again your lack of opposable thumbs stymies us. Would you mind doing a pawprint if I helped you clean the ink off after?"
OOC: Oh, yes, I know Lockheed. :)

What about the missed closed strike tag? Not too happy about that either, I'd guess. :)If Lockheed hadn't just deemed Janet one of his favorite people, he probably would have argued against the pawprint. But he could suck up his pride here
and not leave inky pawprints all over the library. He held out his front right paw.
[OOC: Chris Claremont was on so much crack back in those days...]
