Alanna signed in, trying to get her hair to go back under the band.

"Need help? I thought this is part of why you wanted it cut."

Rory signed in, looking warily around the room.

Alanna flashed Rory what could almost pass for a friendly smile. In Alanna's head, it even was one.

Parker nods to Rory as she comes in, then sits down next to her. "You up for this?" she asks quietly.

Parker signs in, still happy about her shoes. Not so happy about no Marty here, though.

Anya comes in hauling a stack of three ring binders. She passes one out to each of the council members, and keeps one for herself.

"There appears to be a lot of interest in school trips, particularly to Paris, or D.C." Parker smiles. "As soon as I can get a faculty member to sponsor them, I'll work out a proposed schedule for either or both. It looks like no one wants to be gone very long, though, so we may need some kind of help with the travel arrangements. A two-day trip to Paris would hardly be worth it if 20 hours were spent on a plane."

Anya flips through the binder in front of her.

"I've finished the proposal on the tutors," she announces. "While we could pay students to tutor at the proposed $10 an hour, with 10 tutors at about 10 hours a week, that would cost the school $1000 a week. That seems like a big chunk of dance and field trip money to just throw out the door. So what I propose is we go back to my suggestion at giving these brainiacs credit for helping the other kids. That way we can either use the money else where, or invest it. Smart kids usually like to make sure everyone knows how smart they are anyway so, it should work out all the way around."

She takes a breath, looks at Parker and continues her proposal.

"However, if some of you think these wiz kids just need to get paid, I think we could manage a half and half situation paying them for part of their time and credit for the rest. There's a bunch of colorful graphs showing all this on the next 3 pages in your binders."

Parker flips through the graphs, nodding as she considers it. "You're right about the initial cost, assuming we'd get ten tutors. I like the half and half idea." She checks the cost assessments, tapping her fingers on the credit graph. "Okay. Unless anyone can come up with a significant objection, I want to go with the half salary, half credit plan."

Parker closes her binder. "Thank you, Anya. I appreciate the work you did on this, since I know you had your own doubts about it. And the graphs are very cheerful."

"I'm going to be putting up posters about self-defense classes after the meeting tonight, maybe I'll get more interest." She shrugged. "And safe-walk has apparently died."

Re: Plans for Winter Parties/Celebrations?

Parker frowned. "When is break, again? And so many of us have Finals... I think something informal is the best we could hope for. Too many people will probably be taking off early."

Re: Discuss With The Dean

"I was wondering if a welcome-back dance in January would be possible?" Parker said tentatively. "Especially if we get new students, it might be a good way to acquaint them with the rest of the studen body."
