Ms Fraiser! Adam! [Ten is Bloody Cheerful today. It's almost to the point of nauseating were it not so damn cute.] I need a beach read. I was thinking Proust.

Parker walks in, hears this, and grins. "Or Balzac. Or, here's an idea, Dominic Dunne? That won't use any extra brain cells." She perches on her usual stool and yawns hugely.

Perhaps Milton...I have plenty of brain cells, I think that I could tax a couple with him. [He gives Parker a big smile.]

Janet glances up from her seat behind the Collections Desk. "What, Sodom and Gomorrah?" asks Janet innocently.

Jenny walks in and looks around the library. It's different than what she's used to. Just one computer, behind the desk, and a card catalog that's even stuffier-looking than the one Rupert had. Didn't think that was possible.

There's a tallish, youngish-looking guy standing behind the Collections Desk. Kind of cute. He's staring a little sappily at an older, extremely cheerful looking man talking animatedly. Okay, so cute, but gay. Damn. There's a slender, redheaded girl sitting behind the desk. Her serious expression is belied by the amusement when she glances up at the two men talking together.

Parker wrinkles her nose at him. "Don't we have enough evil to wrry about? Besides, that long list of demons always puts me to sleep. And from what I'm learning here, it's not even accurate." She cocks her head. "Unless you're not getting Paradise Lost. I heard the History of Britain was good." She grins at him. "What beach are you going to?"

John slips into the library and experiences a sense of deja vu. He smiles a bit at Janet.

California. The only beaches worth going to. [He grins.] Maybe I was getting Milton confused with Donne.

[innocent] I was thinking of rereading Temps perdu, but I just reread it a couple of months ago. Sodom and Gomorrah is far too suited to Fandom anyhow. I'll read it in winter when I get miserable.

Janet snickers and then her attention is caught by John Crichton. "Oops, gotta go. We've got school work to discuss."

Methos glances up and raises his eyebrows at an unfamiliar face. "Good morning. Can I help you? Are you a new student?"

Janet grins and waves him over. "So, we're talking about school work?" she asks, hoping John catches the hint. "Come on, I have some books stashed in back on that independent study." She leads John into Professor Pierson's office.

"So," she says, when the door is closed behind them. "You okay? What's going on?"

CJ's father, and beaches, and San Francisco, and Chez Panisse. [Ten gives Methos a brilliant grin and looks like he's trying not to bounce.] You could come too, I bet.

"Well, uh, I'm fine. Yeah, I'm fine." Nervous start, John thinks. Wonderful. "I'm sure you heard about what happened on Friday with Rory and Logan and...everything else?"

"Ooh, I like you already," says Jenny, grinning at him. She holds out her hand. "Jenny Calendar. I'm subbing for Abnormal Psych now that someone wised up and fired Drusilla's not teaching any more. Got a library card application I can get my greedy little hands on?"

Parker grins at them both. "Chez Panisse? Oooo." She pokes Methos in the side. "Soneone could pick us up souvenirs. If he went."

Janet raises an eyebrow at him and gives him the look she used on Cassie when she came home after curfew. "Good," she says. She wondered what he was hiding.

Janet nods. "I was in the clinic Friday night. They were in pretty bad shape. So was Marty."
