Library Open 11/22

Does anyone need last-minute books for homework over the holiday?

"Hey, I live down the hall," Parker protests, then rolls her eyes at herself. "Anyway...."

"Here's the deal. He sings at Caritas. Lorne, the owner, reads his aura and his future and whatever else. If he says this guy has a soul, I'll shut up. I won't *trust* him." She glares at John and Janet. "Nothing's going to change that. But I won't rag on you, and I won't try to kill him. You're on your own after that. Okay?"

"Oh, the singing thing," John says. "Yeah, he mentioned that this morning and I told him I'd go with him so he'd know someone who didn't want to kill him."

"Fine. Are you gonna hate me for this, Parker?"

Parker rubs her eyes at John's question, and tries to think. "No. I don't hate Rory for trusting Angelus, I can't hate you for trusting the new guy. I'm just going to be oh-so-pissed if I'm right again, and no one believed me. This is one time I would like to be wrong. If I can't have him gone, I can at least have him souled and suffering."

She folds her arms. "But I don't want to hear about him, and his new shiny soul, if he stays. I'm going to be *good*, Janet, and try to ignore his existence altogether if we don't have to kill him tonight. Understood?"

"I'd never ask you to be friendly with him," says Janet. "But if he comes up in conversation, then you're going to either have to leave, or deal with it."

"Leave," Parker says immediately, then narrows her eyes. "Unless, of course, I need to know what he's up to... but I'll keep my mouth shut. I think." She sighs. "I'm sorry, I've disliked and been afraid of him for months, and now he hurt two of my friends, I know I'm not entirely, you know... sane on the subject."

Parker opens her mouth, then closes it. "It puts you one up on our illustrious Dean," she says grudgingly. "When? Because I don't want to keep this quiet forever."

He shrugs. "Not sure. I actually thought you were going to kill me so I was planning on this being my last mortal day," he says lightly. "Soon. Tomorrow, probably. It's not going to go well."

"Fine. If she asks where AngelicMcTwerp is before then, I'll just say you'll tell her all about it tomorrow." Parker gets up. "I'll send out an email about Caritas to everyone I can as soon as I'm back at the computer. Now, if you'll excuse me? I'm going to go shelve books with great energy and vehemence."

She storms off to Geography and Cartography without looking back.
