Journalism Class - Tuesday November 22

Krycek is at Jerusalem's desk again, though he's rather more focused than he was Monday. He seems to be busy on a personal task, but still watching the classroom.

Please choose one assignment for the day (or do both to earn extra credit):

Write 125 words exactly on what you hoped to learn from this class and whether or not this has been acheived. Spider respects honesty and likes it when people hate him, so don't be afraid to say what you really feel.

or

Vacation is coming up. Homework looms. Write 100 words on how grateful you are that there's no journalism homework this weekend.

At the bottom, he's added:

I will not be fielding questions about the class over the break. Please see me today if there is anything you need.

Choosing the second topic, John starts writing.

There is no journalism homework. It’s hard to explain how I feel about that. But, I shall try. I am eternally, exceptionally, undeniably so very thankful that I can be free and clear of journalism homework over this break.

My brain thanks you, my fingers thank you, my sanity thanks you, and I thank you. Sometime in the near future, I will build a shrine to those who made this no homework long weekend possible.

If having no homework was an ice cream flavor, it would definitely be rocky road ice cream because rocky road makes me happy and bouncy.

Jake wandered in, clutching a gigantic cup of coffee. He paused for a moment when he spotted Krycek in Spider's chair. That was just weird. He shook his head and continued on to his desk.

Angela chooses the second topic and begins writing.

I am thankful to not have Journalism homework this weekend for many reasons. First, I have had an extremely stressful week, and homework would add to it. Second, I'm traveling to visit my family over Thanksgiving. As my parents are recently separated, I have a large family, and I am bringing my boyfriend, I don't expect to have much time over the break for schoolwork.

I am also grateful because this gives me more time to think about my final project, which I have not yet started on. Applause to Mr. Jerusalem and his assistants for giving us this break!

Xander ponders why THIS doesn't count as homework, but doesn't look a gift weekend in the mouth.

When I joined this class, I hoped to learn how not to flunk out of it so I wouldn't get booted out of Fandom High and have to go home where there's a reasonable chance of getting eaten by the giant snake that I hear is still slithering around the outskirts of town looking for really stupid locals to eat. (This being Sunnydale, California, I don't think I need to explain why he hasn't starved to death yet.) I've learned that the way to accomplish this is to actually show up for class, stay awake while the teacher talks and... bear with me here, because I know it's shocking... do the homework. Take a moment, if you need to; I know I did. Who KNEW?

I am very happy not to have journalism homework this weekend because I need a break from school work and thinking and trying to make things make sense.

I’m not going home for the holidays because I was just home, but it will be nice to relax on campus and hang out with some of my friends. I am also planning to look for a part time job.

The holidays are a good time for relaxation and rest and after the holiday break, I look forward to getting back in to the swing of things with classes and the newspaper.

After COM 201 were she got to work on a speech discussing why boys are stupid and how body language gives away lies in COM 301, D slid into her usual spot in the back and took out her laptop to work on the second of the assignments.

Ivanova chooses the second topic and her paper is in no way an ode to alcohol. Absolutely not. Nope.

Jessica offers:
I am grateful that there is no Journalism homework this weekend because I have other things to do at home and would rather not be bothered with a petty thing like homework. I am also grateful about this because vacation, or so I am told, is a time for family and friends rather than a time for school. As a matter of fact, to have a break from school is the main point of the self explanatory phrase “school vacation.” Finally, I am grateful for this reprieve because according to quaint archaic customs, Thanksgiving is a time to be grateful.

Jack wanders into class and takes a seat. He immediately looks relieved at the assignment.

After about a half of an hour Jack places a piece of paper on the desk with one hundred words on his intense dislike of homework and his immanse haoppiness that there is none.

Chloe keeps an eye on Jake and Krycek, frowning at the way they're looking at each other, and works on the second option.

Duce, glad she missed this class, emails in her homework late. She does both assignments, figuring she owed that much to Krycek for being out sick while he had to TA.
