Dean Bristow stands in an empty and unprogrammed Danger Shop. "Mr. Williams has yet to arrive, so I'll be your Detention person until such time as he does. Please sign in below."

Maia comes in not surprised that Dean Bristow is there. Signing the paper she looks around, there are not chairs so she sits on the floor. With nothing to look at in the empty room she brings her knees up under her chin and watches Dean Bristow until the other ~~prisoners~~ detentioned students arrive.

Maia looks thoughtful for a moment and then speaks "I was disrespectful to a teacher sir." Maia says looking at her sneakers and tying the laces in different kinds of knots.

Sawyer comes into Detention, he's still in pain and looks like a mess but the consequences must be served. He signs in and sees one other student here.

Jonathan enters Study Hall with a smile on his face. Whistling he signs in and makes his way into a seat.

Jonathan stands up and addresses everyone, "I was fighting in Study Hall sir," he says before sitting down. He's still smiling the entire time.

"I hit another student, that's why I'm here." he says after a while, the Dean didn't scare him, no way.

Maia nods at Sawyer, they were in wrestling together "So I heard Coach is supposed to be taking over detention. Lucky break for us huh." Maia looks at his face and jerking her chin at it "Is that from him" She inclines her head towards Crane.

Sawyer glances over at her, he'd seen her once or twice but never spoken to her, he knew that she knew Paige and that made him burn inside. "No." he says simply, not in the best mood.

Maia looked at him for a moment and the shrugs. She was miserable for having to be in detention when she could be in bed still snuggled with Chiana. "This is messed up." She mummbled under her breath pulling out one of her notebooks and a pen. She scratched angrily on the page drawing what appeared to be Sawyer's bloodied hand on the blank page.

Even if Dean Bristow cannot hear what they are saying, he can certainly see that they are talking. "There will be no talking in detention."

Maia glances up at Dean Bristow, sighing a little she continues to draw Sawyer's hand. In a scrawl across the top of her page she writes Sawyer's Hand Post-Fight She moved the paper a little so that if Sawyer wanted to glance at it he could.

He looks at the drawing, it wasn't that bad actually, he slightly smiles at Maia.

"Until such time as Mr. Williams decides to grace us with his presence, I will continue with his lesson plan. First, we begin with a film. 1978's Dawn of the Dead. I want 100 words on the depiction of zombies in this film as figures of tragedy or horror."

Sawyer watches the film intently and writes down his response to the Deans prompt.

Maia smiles and then flips the page to a new blank one, she draws a caricature of Geoff with a black eye missing his front tooth, above Geoff she draws little birds flying around his head. She glances at Sawyer for a moment then adds a figure of him standing over Geoff in his wrestling uniform, hands raised in victory like Rocky, his foot on Geoff's chest. At the top of the page she wrote Geoff's Face Post-Fight She smiled knowingly at Sawyer, she had known the fight was going to happen, she didn't bother telling Paige as she thought Geoff deserved it for how he has treated Paige.

Dean Bristow programmed the Danger Shop to be an exact replica of the Monroeville Mall from the film. On the floor in front of them is a piece of red tape.

"Please line up. In this exercise, a zombie will attack you and you will have to defend yourself with an improvised weapon. When you step up to the line, the weapon will materialize in your hand and the zombie will appear 35 feet away. Successfully incapacitate it by removing the head or destroying the brain."

Maia watches the film, she liked the ending with the biker gang in the mall. She felt sorry for the zombies and wrote a hundred words on how it was not the zombies fault that they were zombies and maybe if people would have taken the time to try and help the zombies instead of freaking out and feeling threatened by them and misunderstanding them all then the ending would have been better. Chewing on the end of her pen Maia finally finishes it counting 100 words exactly.

Maia looked around at the danger shop, impressed by the ability to change its form. She was not scared, she had shot a zombie during the attack. Taking a deep breath Maia stepped to the line and waited for her weapon to materialize.

The piece of equipment materialized. "Congratulations, Ms. Rutledge. You get a cheese grater."

A zombie materialized 35 feet away and started shambling for Maia.

Maia stares down at the cheese grater in her hand and then looks at the Dean, she does this for a moment or two and shakes her head. "Yeah I'm going to just grate his face to death and then make pizza. Nice weapon choice sir." Maia steps over the line watching the zombie moving towards her. She breathes deeply and focuses on 'seeing' the zombie and how the hell a cheese grater is going to work to her advantage.

The zombie shambles closer. It's movements are slow and if one were quick on their feet, they could easily take out the zombie. As he draws nearer, he reaches out for Maia.

Maia drops to one knee using her training from wrestling and the self defense classes Diana made her take, Maia rolls away from it, coming up behind him she kicks out her foot into the small of the zombies back at the same time bringing the sharp edge of the cheese grater down onto the back of the zombies head.

The zombie unexpectedly shifts to the left, causing the grater to drive down into its shoulder instead.
