Tara sits at her desk, ostensibly grading but scarcely able to focus on anything. The footsteps in the hall were driving her insane, so the door is closed, but a note sticky taped to the door reads "Open for Office Hours. Please knock."

Shaking, Tara crosses to the door and locks it, slumping down onto the floor. The phone on her desk is too far away, miles too far, the empty space closing in on her.

Fumbling in her pocket, she dials Shane's number.
