Sarah's at the front desk, staring blankly as she leans over a notebook and clutches her head. Her mind seems to be elsewhere, and it's probably a bad idea to talk to her.

The puppies are back, sleeping in the basket in front of the desk and available for people to cuddle for comfort.

*Cally sits down, and begins fiddling with her Quantum Physics notes. She looks more than a little bored with them*

Anders comes into study hall and smiles when he sees the puppies. Unfortunately, images of condom-balloon-animal puppies immediately come to mind, ruining the mood, and he sits down hard in the nearest chair, his eyes glazed.

*looks up from her notes, sees glazed-eyed Anders, and scoops up her stuff and moves over and sits next to him*

You okay?

*mumbles*

Balloon animals.

...what about balloon animals?

Puppies.

*buries his face in his arms on the desk*

Was thinking about balloon animals at the clinic.

*bites her lower lip, and rubs Anders' back, comfortingly*

Hey, hey... It's okay. *scratches her forehead with her other hand* Why, exactly?

*peeks out and smiles, embarrassed*

The, um, condoms reminded me of balloons?

Oh. *giggle* You really think you could make balloon animals out of them?

Maybe. They're kinda slippery though.

*smiles sleepily* Hi.

Hi. You're up and about, so your definitely faring better than last time. *ruffles Anders' hair*

Yeah. I'm upright and functional. It's an improvement. *smiles sleepily and plays a little footsie*

*plays footise back*

So, we need to get a hold of Bridge and work out when we're gonna fix up that ship. And ~~we need to buy corn syrup~~ maybe think about hitting the cafeteria, if we want to risk it.

Do we have much of a choice today? We're probably gonna have to risk it. And I was thinking of playing lightball with Bridge for training tonight, so I'll talk to him then.

*frowns* I've still gotta get RIC back to him, too.

*reaches across the aisle and squeezes Cally's hand*

Beka gave Cally a soft half-smile. Cally might, though others wouldn't, notice her eyes look a little more haunted since Kitty's death, but otherwise she was fine, normal, even in pretty good spirits.

*notices Beka's less than cheerful, if well hidden, demeanor, and bites her lip*

You okay?

"I'm fine, honest. Same as Monday. Lots on my mind. ~~Angelus. Buffy. Illyana. Bel. Half the JA. Kitty. My BFF and her spiral of sexual doom.~~ How're you?"

Doin' pretty good, really. ~~Wow, that's a lot. And it is SO not a spiral of doom, honest. No need to worry about it. I swear.~~ *shrug*

So, lots on your mind, huh?

"Nothing too important, Spitfire," Beka grinned. "Tell me what's up with you?"

Spitfire? I'm a spitfire now? *scratches forehead* Not much, really. Spent time with Anders last night, surprise, and then ABC/DC is supposed to be fixing up that ship in the backyard over at where Jayne used to live, sometime. Other than that... erm, hunger and poor-ness. That's all. *big smile*

"Saw a poster. Didn't have anything handy to stick in the buckets. That still going on?" Beka smiled, amused. "Hunger and poorness? That's no good. I was running low on cash too, but I just got a job at the museum. Can I help?"

Buckets? *scratches her head*

I totally haven't seen any buckets. As for the hunger and poorness, it's okay. Don't wanna mooch off my friends, when I can stand on my own two feet, you know. If I get to the point I can't stand, then you have the right to smack me and force feed me or something. *giggle*

"Must've been hallucinating, then. Could swear I saw...never mind." Beka grinned. If Cally hadn't seen it, then no point embarrassing her by telling her. "No mooching. I'm sure I could find some work for you to do on the Maru. Would that be suitable?"

Yeah, that'd work fine... 'specially since you still owe me a trip in the thing, you know. *smile*

"Great. We'll set something up this weekend. I owe you a trip, and I miss you, cutie." Beka smiled back.
