The Danger Shop was set up like Sugarcube Corner, a ponified sweets shop straight out of Pinkie's hometown of Ponyville. There was a counter full of displays of baked goods, including a wide array of colorful cupcakes with apples on top. There were cakes of almost any conceivable size, shape, and flavor. There was a chocolate fountain, surrounded by marshmallows on sticks. There was a punch bowl -- fortunately without a baby alligator swimming in it.

The walls were lined with streamers, and balloons peppered the ceiling. Next to the door was a table full of party hats in bright, cheerful colors, one for each student with their name painstakingly and shakily copied onto it in magic marker.

This was Pinkie's class, after all. Like it wasn't going to get started with a party?

"Hi everypony!" Pinkie crowed when it seemed like everyone had arrived. She was wearing one of her snazzier party hats, shaped like a cake with lit sparklers along the top of it, and as she welcomed the students, she bounced onto her hind legs, flinging her hoofs -- and a lot of confetti -- into the air. "Welcome to the Elements of Friendship! And what's the basis of making new friends? Meeting new ponies!"

She was far too excited by this.

"So today is devoted totally to a great big welcome-it's-nice-to-meetcha party! We have loads of snacks and even my favoritest of bestest party games, Pin-the-Tail-on-the-Pony! So lets all introduce ourselves and have fun!"

For those new to the island, this is a good time to boggle at the talking pink ~~anthropomorphic sugar high~~ pony and question your sanity.

For those who've been around awhile . . . well, you're free to do that as well, but Pinkie recommends enjoying some snacks.

Bod got himself something to drink and attempted to mingle. He still wasn't great at it but at least he wasn't standing against a wall, looking at his feet.

It said so much that despite the fact the party was being thrown by a pink talking pony, he was far more eager to mingle than he'd been at any of the events Lionel had dragged him to over the holidays.

"She seems very sweet," Cassidy said, coming up to the person she hadn't met yet.

Lex nodded. "Like caramel-coated cotton candy," he said, then looked around to see if there was in fact caramel-coated cotton candy on any of the tables, that kind of sugar high would explain Pinkie's behaviour.

"What's that?"

"Sugar, covered with more sugar."

"Wow," Cassidy said shaking her head. "That sounds a little ... dangerous?"

"Only if you don't have an insanely fast metabolism." Which would be almost everyone.

"But still, that much sugar can't be good for a person ... or a pony... right?" She looked from him to the pony that was their teacher.

"Probably not, but it'd explain the bouncing."

"You do have a good point." Cassidy agreed. "I don't think I've ever seen anyone bounce that much."

Oh, boy!!! SNACKS!!!

Hank got himself a party hat, and then set to attacking the desserts.

If it was wrong to enjoy the chocolate fountain by sticking his whole face in it, he didn't want to be right!

If there was any one thing that Jim had missed about Earth, it was definitely the food. He had a whole plate full of junk food that wasn't crawling away from him, and Jim was totally going to consider that a win.
