BWI Airport, Portalocity Lounge, Friday Morning [12/30]

Anakin still thought that getting sent off to school at some place he'd never heard of (and he'd been trying to memorize star maps practically since he was old enough to read) was one of Uncle Luke's stranger decisions. He'd graduated from the Academy, he wasn't a little kid any more, but as his uncle's apprentice he didn't have much room to argue. He'd much rather have been back in the thick of things if it were up to him, but it wasn't and Luke had sent him here, so he'd trust Luke's judgment even if he didn't understand it. Sending him to Dantooine with Aunt Mara had been weird at the time, too, and turned out to be a valuable learning experience.

The large Fandom High banner in the Portalocity lounge left little doubt that he was in the right place. With a tiny sigh, Anakin set his single bag down on the floor, tugged at the hem of his tunic. and brushed his fingertips against the hilt of the lightsaber hanging from his belt. That, at least, was something familiar in a completely unfamiliar environment.

He never liked waiting around for things to happen, but since he couldn't be home helping the Jedi with the war effort waiting for the shuttle to show up was the only thing to do right now. Well, that and finding out what the other new students would be like, and he supposed that part would happen soon enough.

[OOC: You will wait for the OCD. *Jedi mind-tricks* Shuttle post is goooooooooo!]

"I'm pretty sure he'll be satisfied with taking over the picnic tables when we get to the island," Jim shared. "I don't think he's quite ambitious enough to try to take over the world, even if he did used to hang out with pirates."

In all fairness, so did Jim.

Darcy considered this and asked the important question. "Where they hot pirates?"

"Um..." Jim took a moment, trying to equate any of the pirates that had mutinied aboard the Legacy with the word, 'hot.'

It wasn't happening.

"One of them was a spider?"

You know, if you were into spider... things. With bad hair.

Darcy blinked rapidly for a full minute. "Ewwwww! Wait, was he a giant spider?" Then she blinked some more. "Are you from another planet and have you misplaced a giant hammer?"

"Yes, yes, and... no?" Jim blinked. "No giant hammer, the last time I checked. Should there be?"

"Well, there was." Darcy tried to remember what she had asked. "What were the answers to?"

"Yes to the giant spider, and yes to the other planet? But yeah, no hammer."

Jim was kind of starting to feel left out, now. Why didn't he get a hammer, anyhow?

"The giant spider is an alien pirate from another planet?" Darcy clarified, her eyes kind of wide.

"Well, he was, before the gravity on the ship turned off and he floated off into space," Jim replied, nodding a little. That pretty much summed it up, yeah. "I guess the ship's captain isn't that bad looking, if you're into that sort of thing?"

You know. Cat people.

Darcy's mouth kept moving but no noise was coming out. "Did he die?" She finally asked. ""And the captain's also a giant spider?"

"He probably died. I mean, it's not really likely that anyone picked him up while he was floating around in space." Jim didn't have much sympathy for the guy. After all, Scroop had tried to kill him several times over the past few months. "And no, the captain's not a spider. She's kind of more..."

He squinted, trying to figure out how to describe her species to someone who obviously wasn't from anywhere around his neck of the woods. Science geek speak won.

"She's from a sexually dimorphic race of humanoids- the females of the species look feline, and the males look canine."

It was totally normal, shut up.
