BWI Airport, Portalocity Lounge, Friday Morning [12/30]

Anakin still thought that getting sent off to school at some place he'd never heard of (and he'd been trying to memorize star maps practically since he was old enough to read) was one of Uncle Luke's stranger decisions. He'd graduated from the Academy, he wasn't a little kid any more, but as his uncle's apprentice he didn't have much room to argue. He'd much rather have been back in the thick of things if it were up to him, but it wasn't and Luke had sent him here, so he'd trust Luke's judgment even if he didn't understand it. Sending him to Dantooine with Aunt Mara had been weird at the time, too, and turned out to be a valuable learning experience.

The large Fandom High banner in the Portalocity lounge left little doubt that he was in the right place. With a tiny sigh, Anakin set his single bag down on the floor, tugged at the hem of his tunic. and brushed his fingertips against the hilt of the lightsaber hanging from his belt. That, at least, was something familiar in a completely unfamiliar environment.

He never liked waiting around for things to happen, but since he couldn't be home helping the Jedi with the war effort waiting for the shuttle to show up was the only thing to do right now. Well, that and finding out what the other new students would be like, and he supposed that part would happen soon enough.

It had been a few semesters since Anakin had traumatized the newbies driven the shuttle, so he chalked up the bad feeling he had to the absolute stupidity of the other drivers on the road.

He, naturally, was an amazing driver, and they should all be so lucky to be driven in a school bus that could (and did, with terrifying regularity) go 110 miles an hour.

"Fandom High?" he called out, stepping into the lounge with his cloak swirling dramatically around his ankles.

Anakin had been prepared to step forward and speak up when the shuttle driver arrived.

He probably should've had a bad feeling about this.

He had stepped forward, actually, and opened his mouth to say something that completely went out of his head as soon as he realized he'd come all this way to another galaxy and found another Jedi. One who looked awfully familiar, actually, if he was remembering those glimpses of old holos right.

So whatever he'd been about to say was promptly forgotten, and he just stared.

...that probably shouldn't have been out loud.

"Anakin?"

Not that he wouldn't recognize that Force-presence anywhere.

Anakin's hand twitched toward his lightsaber, and it was only a visible effort that kept him from completing the motion; in any case, his alarm rippled through the Force.

"You can't be here," he blurted out, still staring. "That's just not possible -- and how do you know who I am?"

"So I've been told, mate," Electroclash drawled with a decidedly insincere smile. Although at least she made no effort to hide that it was insincere. "You the school's bus driver or something?"

And what was with the cloak? Seemed a bit much.

Anakin snorted. "I teach ethics," he said. "Picking up newcomers is just part of what teachers sometimes get to do."

Along with fighting off invasions and handing out detentions.

"Are you a teacher, or are you from a strange dimension where you age more rapidly?"

"Missed a chance to compliment me on my youthful good looks, there." Not that she was in the slightest bit bothered. "I'm Electroclash. Supposed to be teaching the... basics of being a superhero, or something."

She was going to take a closer look at the class plan she'd been provided with sometime later, okay?

"Hey," Jim greeted, offering Anakin a little smile and a nod as he attempted to manoeuvre his surfer onto the bus. "I brought a passenger this time, I hope that's okay?"

Morph, still sleeping on Jim's shoulder, didn't seem too concerned either way.

"Pet," Jim replied, shrugging the shoulder that didn't currently have a little pink glob dozing on it. "There's not really much of a family resemblance unless he wants there to be one, anyway."

"Wow," said Britta, shouldering her messenger bag and giving the man a frowning, appraising look, "don't tell me they're actually sending me somewhere with monks or something."

She may have been focusing on the cloaks and trying to explain it to distract herself from being envious of his hair. He probably didn't even have to get up an hour early to ever-so-slightly curl it...

The idea of any religious implications involved with this place definitely put a sour look on Britta's face. "There aren't nun or anything, too, are there?"

Just what she'd need, nuns, though the prospect of possibly finding one dissatisfied with that calling and being able to liberate her from the bonds of religious slavery felt pretty appealing.

Loki was familiar with dramatic cloaks, so that was hardly impressive. Now, if he had been flying or holding a hammer on the other hand...

"Finally," Loki groaned, putting his phone away.

Ooh, even the bus driver was kind of hot. And that officially made the player feel dirty. "That's us!" Stacey said cheerfully, not at all looking for a wedding ring.

What, it was a good habit to have. Kept misunderstandings from happening.

Matt tilted his head as he registered the bus driver's presence.

Was he wearing a cape? What the hell kind of school did Stick send him to?

"Sounds about right," Matt said pretending to use his cane to find the step up to the bus. "Though I'm beginning to wonder what I'm getting into."
