Library, Sunday 12/04
Raven was at the library early today, anxious to begin looking through the books for any mention of the "Auditors" Zoe had spoken of on the radio. She clung to what little optimism she had left that they would find a way to stop whatever it was devouring worlds and people, and reverse it for their safe returns. But if a place as powerful with magic as Kaeleer had fallen, she wasn't sure how long Fandom could stand. And the Netherverse was almost gone.

Re: Mod the Library [Library 12/04]
"You did the right thing," she said quietly, wanting to offer reassurance if he needed any. "She will come to understand that in time."
If there was time.
Re: Mod the Library [Library 12/04]
If he didn't take that moment, he probably would have just cracked, there in the library, like... Like some kind of stupid teenager whose girlfriend just dumped him, or something.
"I don't think she will," he replied, softly. "She has a right to her anger. And she has the right to hold on to it for as long as she wants."
Or as long as she could. One of those.
Re: Mod the Library [Library 12/04]
"She is angry, yes, but she loves you," she said. "And I would have done the same thing if I had known her intent."
She shifted the books in her arms. "I am sorry, I did not wish to cause you any further discomfort."
Re: Mod the Library [Library 12/04]
But he shook his head a little, shrugged his shoulders a bit.
"I think a lot of people would have, without even thinking," he admitted. "I just... I want her to be safe."
Re: Mod the Library [Library 12/04]
"As do I," Raven said. "You are certainly not alone in that. And while I have told her I understand her wish to be with her people, she can better serve them here."
Re: Mod the Library [Library 12/04]
"She'll see that much eventually," he decided, because otherwise there had been an awful lot lost, all for nothing. "For what it's worth... I do know why she did it."
Re: Mod the Library [Library 12/04]
She nodded. "I apologize for interrupting your research," she said. "I just thought you should know that I thought you did the correct thing." And she was positive she wasn't the only one who felt that way.
Re: Mod the Library [Library 12/04]
"Thanks," he murmured. "You'll look out for her, right? She probably needs friends now more than ever."
Re: Mod the Library [Library 12/04]
"Of course," she said. "Always."
Re: Mod the Library [Library 12/04]
He wouldn't thank her. She wasn't doing it for his sake, after all, and he wouldn't have wanted her to. But it was something he needed to hear, even if he already knew the answer.
"'Always' is probably one of the best words you could have used right now, I think."
Re: Mod the Library [Library 12/04]
She clutched her books to her chest like a shield, struggling to keep her own fears suppressed. "If you require any assistance finding a book, I will be at the front desk. Otherwise I will leave you to your reading."
