Don't Be Evil [Friday, Second Period]

The Danger Shop was set up like an old style movie theatre today, complete with ushers with popcorn and drinks in the aisles.

"Given that some of you have recently become parents, I figured we'd take things easy with a movie day today," Oz told them by way of greeting. "But not just any film. This is a hard hitting film about journalistic ethics, sexual jealousy, fraud, government corruptions, and frame-jobs. So I want you all to follow along closely and to deeply consider some of the issues raised."

"I hate you," Topher moaned.

A beat.

"But mostly Ben. And Warren. For breaking my nose."

It had been a nosebleed. Drama queen.

"Now what did you do?" Peter asked without missing a beat. He knew Topher by now.

"I just wanted a ride!"

And Warren... hadn't.

"You tried to ride Warren." You'd be forgiven for thinking that the way Peter reached for his mouth was a case of severe consternation or sympathy or whatever, but the truth was he was just trying to hide the hysterical laughter.

"...well, yeah. Wouldn't you?"

He was awfully fluffy.

"I can-- honestly say-- that the thought-- has never occurred to me," Peter managed.

"Are you laughing at me!?"

Topher was so offended. So offended. See, just look at that icon.

"No, it's the crying," Peter said helpfully, "It's killing me, too."

Now that was a wonderful display of sincerity!

"You're an assface," Topher pronounced.

And then he breathed in the scent of the shirt, perhaps more loudly than he'd meant to. He was never taking it off. Never.

"Is that how we talk to our friends?" Peter wondered. Then pulled a face. "Topher, what the hell are you doing?"

Topher hesitated. "Um," he said muffled. "Nothing."

Lies.

Peter reached out and tugged the shirt down off of Topher's face. "Want to try that one again?"

"...itsmellsnicedon'tjudgeme."

Good luck with that one, Topher.

"...Is that Tony's?"

Topher hesitated.

"No."

Liar.

Well. It certainly wasn't one of Topher's usual sweater vests. So there was a giveaway in and of itself.

Peter facepalmed. "Topher, this has got to end!"

The subtle approach clearly wasn't working.

Topher retreated back into the shirt. Because that was what normal people did. Obviously.

"Shut up," he mumbled. "Smells nice."

There was an effective approach if there'd ever been one.

"You keep that up, Tony is going to slap you with a restraining order," Peter told him, "And he wouldn't be wrong."

Or the suit would. Same thing.

"He doesn't care I have it, though!"

That was almost definitely false.

"Did you ask him?"

"We were drunk," Topher reminded him. "I think I have Bobby's shoes too. It's kinda a thing."

"You don't get to keep them afterwards," Peter pointed out. "Especially not the shirt of a guy who's rejected you how many times now? Because that's just creepy."

"Billy has stuff too!"

Yes. There was an excuse that was sure to fly with Peter.

"So Billy is a creep, too," Peter said. "Congratulations. I hope you two are very happy together."
