The Fifteen Labors of Fandom, Session 6, Period 1

Hercules had plans for today's class. Oh yes he did. The class was directed to meet in the Danger Shop, where again their teacher (resplendent in his 'battle toga') met them outside the door to the Shop itself.

"Greetings and salutations, fair heroes and heroines of Fandom!" he declared. "Beyond this door today is a test of mettle. A test of skill. A test of grit! That is all I will say now, for you must instead experience it yourself!"

And with that, he stepped out of the way. What possibly could lie beyond the door?

[ooc: Plz to wait for OCD! Class is up and ready!]

"It's not just me, right?" she groused, even as she slammed the teddy-bot's knee joints with a blast of the Sapphire. "Murderworld is a completely ridiculous name, right?"

Said the girl from a world with magical cock rings.

"It's less funny when it's not a simulation?" Bobby offered, continuing with the candy-apple assault.

Why did everyone say that like it was a bad thing?!

"Don't even tell me this male is real," Karla said. Teddy-bot's gunfire went haywire as the candy apple got lodged in its eye socket. "I thought this was some kind of twisted thing out of Hercules' imagination!"

"Yeah, not so much," Bobby shook his head, lowering his voice a little so as not to be overheard by their classmates. At least the sound of the gunfire was good cover in that respect. "This is Arcade's work. He's an assassin for hire who gets a kick out of messing with his victims first. So far, every one of his sims has either been based on myth- which is really just stuff he did like a zillion years ago, I guess- or based on stuff from our world."

"Your world is insane," Karla said. Helpfully.

Yes, Bobby. This was from the girl with magical cockrings. What did that say?"

"Isn't this a lot of time and effort to put into killing people? He has to take all of the money he makes as an assassin and pour it into deadly bear-bots and exploding balloons."

Karla was unimpressed. There were plenty of more effective ways to murder someone.

Well... she wasn't wrong. Bobby was just kind of used to it by now. "Well, one man's near death experience at the hand of a stuffed animal is another man's entertainment, I guess. Of course, if you think this is bad, you should see some of the stuff from Mojoworld."

"Is that like Murderworld's slightly dimmer second cousin?" Karla asked, shooting Bobby a look that suggested she wasn't sure whether she was buying any of this or not.

"No, that'd be a world full of stuff that tries to kill you... that's filmed and broadcast for their people's entertainment."

Karla just stopped and stared at Bobby for a moment, at least until a hail of bullets against her shield had her turning to send another blast at the teddy-bot. "No. Just...no. Really? No."

"A fictional version of me escaped from there once," Bobby shared helpfully, because that was surely going to help matters. He was, unfortunately, beginning to run out of candy-apple return fire. It really would be so much easier if he just sucked it up and used his powers, but nooooo. Someone was still sort of neurotic about the whole secret-identity thing. Shut up.

"Grab some of those darts!" Karla suggested, pointing to one of the balloon-popping games. The darts were gleaming wickedly sharp in the light. "Fictional--is this one of those things that's going to leave me wishing I'd just let the teddy bear hit me?"

The problem with being your own weapon was you didn't tend to see the ones available in your surroundings. "You know how sometimes we turn into our younger selves?" Bobby said, grabbing a handful of darts and loosing them at the bear one by one. "Like that, sorta. I've got pictures, on my phone." Because in the middle of a fight with a homicidal teddy bear robot was the best time for show and tell.

"I'm going to want to see those," Karla decided. "Ummm, after we're done getting shot at, I think?"

You know. Just saying. She wasn't the professional superhero, here, but it seemed best to wait on this.
