Ethics [Tuesday, September 20, 2011, 1st period]
"Good morning, class," Anakin said, sweeping into the room with a steaming cup of coffee. Of course he hadn't brought any to share. Are you new? "Today we talk about the power of money, and the moral issues that arise with that. Are there things that money shouldn't be able to buy? Do those things exist in your dimensions? After a quick discussion, I'll give you a hypothetical scenario as well for you to discuss among yourselves."

Re: Answer the discussion questions! [9/20]
"Say you have a property you want to buy, but they don't want to sell, so you'd start looking for any kind of weakness, say an unpaid debt of some kind. Now depending on how deep your pockets are or how subtle you want to be, you could simply buy the debt and wait for them to miss a payment and then in you come to save them from financial ruin by taking that property off their hands. If they're lucky you'll even offer them the original price.
"Most people," including Lex, "would argue the ethics and morality of this, but legally your hands are clean and you got what you wanted, even if it was more trouble than you would have liked, so who cares what they think?"
Re: Answer the discussion questions! [9/20]
"Legal and moral are two different things sometimes," Anakin said, "especially when the powerful are writing the rules."
