Aesthetics of Badassery [Monday, Period One]

Today's class was in the Danger Shop, which had been set up to resemble a large dressing area with an even larger variety of clothing, and a number of NPC tailors darted about the place. A table was set up safely away from the clothing with the promised coffee and pastries.

"One of the first steps towards being a badass is looking like one," Bond began once the class had arrived. "How you dress is one of the first things about you that people will notice, and picking the right clothes will give the right impression. Which isn't to say that one size fits all, as different situations will call for different ensembles, and the Saville Row suit that's perfect for getting advantage during a business meeting would look absolutely ridiculous on a beach."

"Which is why we'll be spending today's class putting together outfits, complete from head to toe, with shoes and accessories, for several different occasions. Think about why you're choosing each item, and what impression you want to give off."

Watch Bobby attempt to sort through words in his head while keeping his eyes way, way above her head.

Don't look down, Bobby. Don't look down.

"I don't need anything!" he squeaked, his voice at least two octaves above his regular register.

"Aw, but I was hoping to persuade you!" Caroline frowned, hands on her hips as she tried to figure out why he was looking up. "...what are you we looking at, Bobby?"

"...Persuade me for what?" Bobby asked, still avoiding the whole...area of Caroline's unclad body. He wondered if someone could actually die from girlness. He'd totally be the one to do it.

"Uh...nothing?" he replied, looking down and seeing what was at his eye level. His cheeks and ears flamed bright red as he looked up to find her eyes.

Hey, she'd been looking up too, assuming there was something going on with the danger shop ceiling but nope, nothing.

"Uh, right, I made up some campaign hand outs! Purchased blue frosted brownies, individually wrapped by moi with the appropriately colored ribbon and little cards with a simple catchphrase. Wanna hear it?"

Nothing to look at here. Just Bobby dying by very slow, red inches.

"Oh! Really? That sounds awesome!" Bobby said, trying to be more excited than dying of embarrassment. "I'd love to hear it!"

Oh, that color on his face didn't look right. "Do you have a rash?" Caroline asked, reaching out to feel his forehead. "You're all hot...Oh, that's not my campaign! It goes like this: Vote Caroline Forbes, your choice for a voice in 2012!" Should she stop touching him now? His cheeks were all warm and she was a little worried since he wasn't exactly a werewolf who should feel that way.

He had to jump back because if she kept touching him, he'd be embarrassing himself in class.

"I'm fine!" Bobby's voice had gone squeaky again, and he was seriously about to die of embarrassment. "Not sick!" Bobby coughed, realising he had to reply about the other thing. "Why 2012? It's not 2012 yet?"

Focus on dates, good Bobby.

If he wasn't sick, acting all jumpy and making his voice go high was so not the way to make himself seem okay. "Well, because the whole election thing goes from twenty-eleven through twenty-twelve and I wouldn't want my voters getting the idea I wasn't forward-thinking," she explained. "But the cards just tell voters to make their ballots count and the election date. I wanted to make sure no one missed the opportunity to vote for me."

She was excited and bouncy and...this conversation was going nowhere good.

"That sounds great!" Bobby said quickly. He looked down again because he really had or he'd no longer be allowed to call himself a teenage boy (even one raised by Grace McCallister).

"I gotta go! Um, over there," Bobby managed to form the words with difficulty. "TA stuff! Bye!"

And he fled. Like a fleeing fleer who flees. Because she needed to put more clothes on before he could hold a conversation.

"Gotta go?" Caroline didn't understand. She turned her head, lifting her shoulder to her chin and giving a general sniff in case like, actual human-ish odor was causing her friends to literally run from her. "Can he smell the vampire thing?" Not that she expected anyone to listen to her when Bobby had already shown off his sprinting skills and she was left shrugging and going to find some sandals to match her bikini top.
