Library [08/05]
Well, Wesley didn't know about anyone else, but he was using his library shift to read up on the considerable oddness that had begun in Fandom this week. For the first time, he was actually having trouble finding anything relevant, which was particularly frustrating given how tall the stack of books he'd already gone through was. In all the books he knew about transferrence of demonic properties, while some did mention turning grey and violent, none of them talked about a big glowing rock.
Still, he kept at it, undeterred.

Mod Your Library
Re: Mod Your Library
And subsisting on caffeine was maybe making her jittery, but at least she wasn't gray.
If anyone wanted her, she'd be at a table, looking through some books really really fast.
Re: Mod Your Library
handwaveyday in a row, glasses on and idly chewing on a pencil as she worked. She had dropped the safety of her diamond form for use of her telepathy, and was making full use of the multitasking abilites she had been busy perfecting since her first Fandom disaster, when she'd found herself in an alternate world. The bulk of her concentration was spent pouring over books and records, geological studies, anything that might be of use, but she was also actively scanning the minds of the others in the library, looking for bits that might tie into what she was reading. And yet farther afield, she was passively monitoring the town, keeping an ear open for any of her friends doing Stupid Heroic Things.
Emma's friends tended to do Stupid Heroic Things on a regular basis. It was why she had telepathic trackers on them most of the time.

So reading he was, slowly flipping pages and getting more and more depressed the further he read while finding nothing useful at all.
Talk to Wes
Re: Talk to Wes
Kenzi had a sword. It was a dull sword, from under the couch somewhere, obviously fake, but hey. It would keep things off her neck. Also, her hockey stick. Also, a saucepan on her head.
Don't you judge her! People were turning into zombies! This would protect her brains!.. or possibly give them something convenient to cook them in, if they were still thinking that clearly.
Re: Talk to Wes
"Tragically, I can't say that I do," he said, looking about as exasperated as it got.
And in the nearly-empty cup next to him? Coffee, not tea. This was serious.
"That... is not a functional sword," he informed her, feeling very much like the bearer of bad news.

Re: Talk to Wes
"Okay, so, they're afraid of books, right? I can hide here?" Kenzi blinked slowly. "Or somewhere! WHERE IS THE GOOD HIDING?"
Re: Talk to Wes
Those tended to help.
Re: Talk to Wes
or maybe Miley's boots, we ain't sayin'."I can totally stick this in a zombie eye!"Re: Talk to Wes
or Mileyknew how to pick 'em."Oh! Yes, that would certainly do," he agreed. Leaning forward, he inquired, "May I see?"
He totally wanted to guess who made it and what kind of knife it was, yep.
Re: Talk to Wes
Re: Talk to Wes
"Standard modern fighting knife," he mused, turning it over. "I reccomend finding some sort of sheath if you intend to be storing it in your shoes."
That was a lesson you only had to learn once.
"But yes, this should do you just fine should you encounter any of the... well." He held up a book. "I don't quite know what to call them, to be honest."

Re: Talk to Wes
This was a lecture that British kids paid good money to hear at the Watchers' Academy! You should be grateful, Kenzi!
Re: Talk to Wes
She was grateful! See? She did a completely unsolicited summary report!
Re: Talk to Wes
"Unless someone can determine a probable cause to what is going on?" Wesley sighed. "I would say yes."
Re: Talk to Wes
Re: Talk to Wes
"Unfortunately not," he said, absently turning pages as though he might stumble upon the answer. "I rather think the rock might be a clue as well, but it doesn't seem to have been recorded in any of these books. A rock to imbue people with demonic properties..." He shook his head. "Did anything untoward happen to B-- er, Ms. Jones?"
Re: Talk to Wes
"She touched it when it touched down. She said she got a vibe from it. Like it wanted to..." Mate with everything! "Spread." Cough.
Re: Talk to Wes
He was clinging to this information like a crazy clinging thing, yes.
Re: Talk to Wes
Re: Talk to Wes
Then he shook his head to clear that thought from his mind and took a sip of coffee.
"Er," he said. "Yes. Right. Well, I'm sure the school administration will manage to nip this in the bud before that happens."
[[GODDAMNIT, LJ, WHAT WAS THAT!??]]
Re: Talk to Wes
In other news: Sky! Blue!
"Anywho. You call me if there's... something I can do." Kenzi looked discouraged. "Want a knife so you get home safe?"
[Cthulu stole the goat. They got him back. And we feasted on his entrails.]
Re: Talk to Wes
...Wesley didn't mess around.
Re: Talk to Wes
Re: Talk to Wes
Wesley was a little bit smug, yes. The best part was that he could man that hunting rifle like a boss and he knew it.
"Are you certain that knife is sufficient protection?" he had to ask, with just a lingering bit of smugness in his tone. "If you'll wait until the end of my shift, I could escort you back to the dorms."
And show off his marksmanship? Oh, yes. Now he was just bragging.

"Just down that aisle to your left," Wesley said with a grin, pointing. "Enjoy!"

Arrive and Mingle
Re: Arrive and Mingle
Not that this was at the forefront of his mind.
He took a seat at a convenient table, notebook open in front of him. "I do think going into town more formally is a good idea," he said. "Where should we start?"
Return and Mingle
OOC
And thanks, LJ, for the doublepost up top. Sigh.
