Two boxes sit on Tara's desk. One is filled with homemade cookies, with a small placard labelled 'To all those who attempted the assignment - help yourselves!'. The other is a bin to return the Master/slave badges at the end of the class.

Tara smiles as the students settle down.

"I told you last week that part of the point of this assignment was to separate out the issues of slavery and abuse. There are many, many issues with slavery, even without abusive elements attached, and I want to tell you how proud I am of all of you for attempting the assignment - especially those of you who were uncomfortable with it. I have a lot I want to say, but I'm going to bite my tongue and let you all speak, first. Tell me about your experiences with the assignment - what was challenging for you? What was easier than you thought it would be? Do you have any insights you would like to share?"

[ooc: If you would provide linkage to any RPed assignment bits and pieces, I would be forever grateful when it comes time for grading. Also, those of you who made icons? I adore you, and worship your icon-fu.]

"I would not ask anything of you that I am unwilling to do myself - including act as a slave. Anyone who completed the assignment is eligible to 'win' me as a slave, under the same terms of the assignment as you performed. I realise many of you are probably glad that this is over, but if you are interested, or want revenge, please put your name down on the sheet provided. I will post this as a voting list, and the involved parties will decide as a class who is to Master me, and what is to be done with me."

"Very nice. I'm cashing in one of those now," Angelus said. "I won't be here Friday."

"No?" Tara queries. "You were distracted last Friday too. You'll need to actually answer the questions today."

"Darla and I are going on what you might call a honeymoon," Angelus said. "I'll be goner than gone from Wednesday through Sunday."

"Thank you for letting me know," Tara grins. "I'm sure you'll have a marvellous time."

"I'm planning on it," Angelus grinned. "We have so much catching up to do."

"And much of it the kind you can't do within town limits, I suspect," Tara replies, raising an eyebrow.

"Why teach," Angelus smirked, "you say that as though a vamp like me would be utterly chafing by being forced to live in a town where it's impossible for him to kill anyone."

"Did I?" Tara asks, a little overdramatic in her innocent astonishment. "My goodness, I certainly didn't mean to imply that. I simply remember that you were chafing for a lack of culture. You'll take Darla to the ballet, I'm sure..."

"That might be on the agenda," Angelus agreed. "Maybe even a museum or two. You know how Darla loves her paintings."

"I didn't, actually," Tara admits. "But I'm sure you'll have a lovely time. Bring me a souvenier? Nothing formerly alive?"

"Anything in particular you fancy?"

Tara shrugs, grinning. "Just something to let me know you were thinking about your poor, overworked boss while you were off gallavanting with a beautiful woman. Something pretty, and tasteful."

"So no g-strings or thigh-highs then."

Tara coughs, blushing furiously. She shakes her head. "I was thinking more something that reminded you of me."

"So yes to the g-strings and..." Angelus trailed off, clearly expecting to be whapped on the arm or something similar.

Tara covered her face with her hands. "I walked right into that one." She sighs. "Yes, Angelus, if you find a pretty, tasteful g-string that reminds you of me, you can get it for me. I think the odds are very, very low."

"Well now you're just giving me a challenge."

"I have every faith Darla will distract you," Tara replies, utterly mortified.

"I'll have her help me pick something," Angelus promised. "She loves to shop."

"No way would she let you buy lingerie for another woman," Tara shakes her head. Her tone of voice is not quite a childish 'nuh-uh!', but it's close.

Angelus gave her a "Girl, please" look. "We'll get you a nice scarf or something. Maybe silk, not that that could ever be used inappropriately."

Quietly, carefully, Tara replies, "Do you think if I stop talking now the blood might eventually leave my face?"

"Stranger things have happened," Angelus looked around, "especially at this place."
