Try Not to Die!!!! [Tuesday, July 12, 2nd period]

This time, the person greeting the class at the end of the causeway was tall and blond, rather than short and blonde. He also wore shoes. Well, big stompy boots, but the details weren't overly important.

"First of all, thank you, Jedi Veila, for handling class last week. I'm Master Skywalker, this is Try Not to Die!!!! and hopefully you've all returned even after your experiences last week." He gestured to a long table full of Earl Gray tea, scones, and clotted cream. "Please, accept this as a gesture of apology for my not being here last week. I've been told the food is traditional in the place and time we now find ourselves."

Once the students were finished with their snack, Anakin stepped away from the clue box. "Head back into Regency London, students, complete the two tasks as you learn about them, and as always try not to die. See you all on the other side."

In Yard Work, you make your way by foot to Regent's Park, where you will find a gardener waiting for you. Don the required gardening outfit and then help the man carve four topiary deer with incredibly sharp clippers. When your work meets his satisfaction, he will hand you your next clue.

In Hard Work, you make your way by foot to Cumberland Market where you will have to sell 20 meat pies to the people who are there to buy hay and straw and are not particularly interested in buying meat pies.

Don't ask what kind of meat the pies are made of. Just don't. When you have sold 15 pies, a nearby vendor will hand you your next clue.

Oh, you didn't think that the tea Anakin served you at the start of class was actually an apology, did you?

You are now at Brooks's, where Anakin had done a bit of, erm, persuasion, to get them to allow the female students into the club. Before you are several hundred cups of tea.

Your job is to drink them and find one of the 19 Earl Gray flavored ones. After you finish your tea, bring it to one of the gentleman of the club who will tell you if you've chosen correctly. Once you have, you will be handed your final clue of where to find Anakin.

Bruce Wayne

Once again, BRUCE PWNS ROBINS.

As Bruce struggled with the fine control of clipping plants into animal shapes, he realized that it would probably be a good idea to take some kind of practical art class at some point, just in case he needed to carve or sculpt something.

Bruce had lost a lot of time with the nitty gritty of being a shrubber, but this was right down his wheelhouse thanks to Alfred. He had to sip from ten cups before fing an Earl Grey, but he recognized the taste immediately and sprinted off to one of the gentlemen.

Marshall Wheeler

Bruce followed the final clue, knowing that he didn't do as well as he did last week. Still, at least he made up time with the tea.

Marshall lost a bit of time selling the pies -- the first twelve went fairly quickly, but after that it took him way too long to find a family willing to take the next three off him.

Fortunately, despite any time lost selling the pies, Marshall was able to make quick work of the tea. Three cups in and the distinctive flavour of bergamot burst across his tongue. He took it quickly to one of the gentlemen of the club and got his clue.

There were... a lot less people here than when Marshall finished last week. "Okay, either everyone's already gotten back here and left, or I did a lot better this week," Marshall said, grinning.

Omg I remember the tea thing on the show and all I can think is "I WOULD HAVE CRIED IN FRUSTRATION TOO."

Annie had learned a little something about herself in the last few months, which was that if she really put her mind to it, she could convince people to do things in various ways. So, she picked that over manual labor. Sure, she'd get told a lot that people didn't want to buy this stuff (and she sure didn't want to eat it) but most of the guys would actually have no problem buying one if she looked cute enough.

Beware her learning this lesson, people.

This was completely daunting to Annie, right up until she actually tried it. Someone as obsessively detail-oriented as her could actually sort of remember what she'd had at the start of class, and then she started dismissing any teas that were the wrong color, or that smelled wrong.

She had to try much, much less of the tea than she thought she would have, and almost cheered when the gentlemen said she'd done it right.

All Annie had to do was look around and see how many people weren't there before getting really excited about it.

"First!"

Yes, it's nice to know you'd fit in on the internet, Annie.
