Try Not to Die!!!! [Tuesday, July 12, 2nd period]

This time, the person greeting the class at the end of the causeway was tall and blond, rather than short and blonde. He also wore shoes. Well, big stompy boots, but the details weren't overly important.

"First of all, thank you, Jedi Veila, for handling class last week. I'm Master Skywalker, this is Try Not to Die!!!! and hopefully you've all returned even after your experiences last week." He gestured to a long table full of Earl Gray tea, scones, and clotted cream. "Please, accept this as a gesture of apology for my not being here last week. I've been told the food is traditional in the place and time we now find ourselves."

Once the students were finished with their snack, Anakin stepped away from the clue box. "Head back into Regency London, students, complete the two tasks as you learn about them, and as always try not to die. See you all on the other side."

Bruce followed the final clue, knowing that he didn't do as well as he did last week. Still, at least he made up time with the tea.

There were... a lot less people here than when Marshall finished last week. "Okay, either everyone's already gotten back here and left, or I did a lot better this week," Marshall said, grinning.

All Annie had to do was look around and see how many people weren't there before getting really excited about it.

"First!"

Yes, it's nice to know you'd fit in on the internet, Annie.

Cara was maybe a little pleased to see there weren't a whole heap of clssmates already there when she arrived.

Luke knew he did terribly and was kind of annoyed about that. It probably showed on his face when he walked up to Anakin to see how he did. Stupid tea.

Wesley was just glad not to be eighteenth again, which -- as he squinted at the group of people getting steadily more in focus around Anakin -- he was quite certain that he wasn't.

Good to know he could drink tea competitively as a career plan.

Seifer took his time heading for the check-in point, because at this late in the day, he knew he was close to being last.

"I'm pretty sure the 'ladies' wouldn't have been able to help me today."

Damn shrubs.

There were a lot of people here when she arrived, including Bruce (that part wasn't a surprise) and Jason (slightly less of not-a-surprise, but still kind of an ego blow), and Stephanie's face fell.

"Just tell me I'm not last?"

There were a lot more people around than there'd been last week when Jason arrived, but there were also a few faces missing, which gave him some hope. "I didn't do very well, did I?"

"I don't think I ever want to drink tea again," groaned Lion-o. "How badly did I do?"

Sam made it to the end in better time than she had last week, and looking rather less scruffy, though she still managed to get leaves in her hair.

"You should go with blue tea next time," she told Anakin. "It tastes way better."

Plus, it was blue.

"Uh, hey." Not last. Jim could so live with not last. Because if he wasn't last, that meant that he'd have a much shorter wait in the inevitable bathroom line, after drinking all of that tea.

Not that he was getting squirmy or anything. Yet.

"How'd I do?"

There were a few people there ahead of her this time, but she definitely wasn't last. Scully beamed in relief as she checked in.

"It's not FAIR!" Hank protested when he arrived. "The tea was RIGGED!!!"

Mercy followed the clue to the end, but knew the tea thing had really slowed her down. Still, she'd never forget the taste, smell, or name of any of the teas she'd tried. That was something, right?

Or would have been if she was a big tea drinker.
