Wednesday: How to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse...

When the students entered the dangershop this morning they'd notice that the classroom was actually a classroom.

And there was also no zombies.

"Good morning," Columbus said cheerfully and waved everyone to take a seat. "Today I thought we'd change things up and give everyone a break from chasing and killing zombies."

He then began to hand out an article he found last night on the internet. "The other day a man from England mailed a letter to the local city government asking what provisions were in place for a zombie invasion. And amazingly enough the letter is being treated seriously by the city government. Or at least they haven't sent an open letter back saying the guy is a complete nutjob."

"Today your lesson plan is to come up with some provisions and procedures that should be put in place in the event of a zombie invasion on this island in school. Again. Not that it will happen again. This is just hypothetical. Ready? Let's start!"

"My first thought was to make sure everyone had a weapon but that might not work if one person doesn't know how to handle the weapon in question," Nathan decided, shaking his head. "Instead of shooting a zombie in the face, they might shoot themselves right in the crotch, making it impossible to have any future babies though that probably won't matter once the zombies have them for dinner."

So, that was out. Weapons were such tricky things anyway. "What about an escape route? If you have huge crowds of people running out every goddamn exit there is, there's gonna be lots of places for a zombie horde to come in. Make one escape route and lock the shit out of the rest of the doors."

"Plus," Topher said, adding on to the first part of Nathan's comment, "one zombie gets someone in a chokehold and grabs the weapon and then we've all got a much bigger problem."

Zombies were bad. Zombies with weapons were worse.

Nathan sucked in a breath through his teeth and grimaced. "That'd be a bit messy, I think. Zombies don't seem very coordinated to start off with so who knows where there decaying fingers might spray a mess of bullets. Ouch. Gross."

Topher nodded solemnly. "Better to keep weapons out of the equation," he concluded. "Or, if you had a room full of weapons, you could just get all the people out of there and let the zombies just go to town."

Also messy. But possibly productive!
