Wednesday: Period 1 - How to survive the Zombie Apocalypse - Class 3

When the students filed into the dangershop this week, they'd find a somewhat annoyed looking teacher trying to get something fixed on the remote.

The setting for today's class was a city street at night. It was close to midnight. And something evil was lurking in the dark.

"Hey guys," Columbus said finally giving up on the remote. "Apparently with the whole thing over the weekend has corrupted my scenario with this week's class."

Columbus let out a heavy sigh. "Which means we won't be having the standard class today. Instead of the zombies chasing you with chainsaws? They just want to dance."

He put up his hands in bewilderment. "I don't get it. So today we're going to learn abe rule number 32"

And right on cue the big block letters appeared behind Columbus:

"Sooooo... today? Your assignment is to dance. You know. Shake your... thing."

Columbus should never use that phrase again. Ever.

Dave figured he might need more limbering up than usual for this. He was getting to the point where he was prepared to run this time each week. But dancing? That took different muscles doing different things.

All of which was just masking the point that he didn't really know how to dance, yes, thank you.

Dancing? There was going to be dancing? With the zombies?

Simon couldn't even decide whether that necessitated more limbering up than running, or less. He dreaded it a bit all the same.

After yesterday's class, Nathan had been hopeful that he'd managed to go two for two with awesome classes. This...was not what he'd call awesome. He spent a long time staring at the teacher before looking around and following the leads of fellow classmates by stretching and shit.

Did raising and lowering your eyebrows count as limbering up? Cally had no problem doing the usual sort, but she definitely got in a few reps of the other too.

What is with this island and dancing? James did some brief stretches, just in case the lesson changed.

Dance!!

It's a regular zombie jamboree!

Topher was so, so not a good dancer. Though dancing with zombies seemed like kind of a cool idea. So he made an effort.

He fell. Twice.

This was just...wrong. Though, Cally supposed, it was just the next logical step from the zombie band at Caritas.

What was most wrong was how easily she managed to pick up the steps of that group number they seemed intent on performing. Might be something to do with her canon actually coming from 1981.

Yeah, this felt stupid. Jocelyn was sort of dancing over there on the edges. Mostly she was wondering why they couldn't kill anything today.

Scully was just sort of swaying-and-shuffling. So looking a lot like a zombie might dance, but she was keeping a wary eye on the zombies.

"They'd be easy to trick into a trap this way," she commented to Jocelyn, still glaring at them.

Re: Dance!!

[identity profile] sedlexduralex.livejournal.com 2011-05-26 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Unless they can sense we're alive or something," she pondered, frowning at the zombies and wondering if they could do just that.

"Maybe?" Scully wondered, swaying sideways, and trying to catch one of the zombie's gazes. It slid off her, dead-eyed and oblivious. "Body heat, maybe? I doubt their own kind are giving off any."

Considering this was Nathan's first class, he figured he ought to actually do the activity rather than stare at the zombies. His best dancing, that got saved for girls, so he kind of just danced like he had with the old people back when he'd been in England.

That particular brought another one about and he shuddered. Ew. Old people.

His movements were awkward at first, from nerves, not from any lack of ability; they smoothed out once he realized he cared not for how he looked.

Calvin totally knew all there was to know about dancing. You might even call him the lord of the dance.

Of course, she knew a thing or two about dancing. Alex and dancing went hand in hand.

"I haven't been here for the past two weeks because I was dead," Nathan said without preamble. "But, I'm not undead or anything like that so I'm not dancing like a zombie would."

Re: Talk with the Teacher

[identity profile] tripledmyself.livejournal.com 2011-05-25 12:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't but several people went to my funeral so they could vouch for me," Nathan said and then added, "Wait a bloody minute. How would I have a doctor's note for being dead? Do they give those out?"

Re: Talk with the Teacher

[identity profile] tripledmyself.livejournal.com 2011-05-25 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh yeah, that." Nathan made a face and shrugged. "I'd explain but you probably wouldn't believe me. My first set of explanations were meant by a punch in the jaw, a hair dryer at my head and a smack in the ribs. I'm doing well for myself. But thanks, mate. I should be good from here on out."

Re: Talk with the Teacher

[identity profile] tripledmyself.livejournal.com 2011-05-25 04:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's not," Nathan agreed and took the Twinkie. "Cheers, mate. Guess I'll go...dance now."

Yeah, he still wasn't looking forward to that. Dancing was one thing but dancing with zombies was another.
