Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part III

The food? Still there. The school? Still standing. Students? Still mingling.

Ahhhh. What fun this weekend was for us all. WHAT FUN. And this time it was actually the good weather for shirt removing!

[Please wait for OCD is up! This is the SECOND post for general mingling. Use this post if your browser can't handle the comment load of the first mingling post. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are here.]

"I would be happy to join you, then," Raven said. "Thank you for inviting me."

Hopefully she wouldn't be the Mistress of Moping on the trip.

...With everything that would happen in the next week, Raven probably would. She also probably wouldn't be the only one.

"Of course, darling," Karla said, reaching down to give Raven's hand a squeeze. "I would have missed you if you didn't come."

"Are the Fyreborn Islands a safe place?" Raven had to ask. She'd seen many of Kaeleer's dangers and just wanted to be prepared. She could keep an eye on everyone and teleport them away if any danger presented itself.

"It is," Karla assured her. "It's the dragons' Territory, which means it's closed to almost everyone."

Jaenelle being the obvious exception.

"So, as long as we don't do something horrifically stupid, we should all be fine."

Funny how it wasn't the dragons that Karla considered to be a danger.

"I trust you will explain to us any rules that we must follow while there," Raven said. She didn't want to inadvertently do something stupid out of ignorance.

"We've been there before, darling," Karla reminded. "The trip where I invited almost half the school to come home with me? Just be as polite to the dragons as you would be to anyone else--" because that was such a concern with Raven, really "--and everything will be fine. If you want to make friends with them, gather a lap full of pickleberries and offer to share."

Yes, Raven being rude was always such a problem.

"They will not be disturbed because of what I am?" The unicorns hadn't been, so she didn't see why the dragons would, especially since demons weren't uncommon in Karla's world. Just...different.

"Oh, Raven," Karla sighed and squeezed her hand again. "No one in my world has any idea what your father was and how that affected you. We don't have any concept of the kind of demon he was."

Sure, they might have a problem with it if Raven demoned out in front of them, but then who wouldn't be taken aback by a girl growing red skin and four eyes?

"No one will know that about you unless you say. And, even then, no one will understand. Promise."

Raven squeezed Karla's hand back and leaned against her shoulder. She worried about these things! She couldn't help it! "I am being foolish," she admitted. "I should not worry so much."
