Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part III

The food? Still there. The school? Still standing. Students? Still mingling.

Ahhhh. What fun this weekend was for us all. WHAT FUN. And this time it was actually the good weather for shirt removing!

[Please wait for OCD is up! This is the SECOND post for general mingling. Use this post if your browser can't handle the comment load of the first mingling post. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are here.]

"Huh? Who's wearing the costume?" asked Lion-o, looking around to see if he could spot the person wearing one.

"You?" Freddie said, confused as to why the kid was joking about that. "I mean, it's cool. I wore a Nug-Nug costume to the last Galaxy Wars convention I went to."

"Oh," said Lion-o as the realization started to settle in. "I'm not in costume. This is what I actually look like. I come from a planet where there are no humans, just cats."

Freddie wasn't sure about that at all.

So he reached out to poke Lion-O's arm. Just to make sure.

"No way," he said, just sort of surprised.

"I'm as real as you are, but just from a place where things are really different," said Lion-o. "You must be new here. My name is Lion-o, and I'm originally from a planet called Thundera. I think I had the same reaction three years ago when I realized I was at a school full of humans."

Okay, maybe that was a little too much for a new kid to handle, but Lion-o figured there was no easy way to break it to someone.

"My name is Freddie," Freddie said, just deciding to roll with it. "I'm... I'm not a cat."

He'd be able to fully converse in a moment, honest.

"Yeah, I kind of counted on that," said Lion-o. "How are you settling in so far? Managed to find your roommate, get your workshop schedule and all that other stuff?"

Freddie nodded. "I have," he said. "Though it was kind of weird that my roommate had never heard of a PearPad. But then I guess they might not have those on a cat planet, either."

"I haven't heard of that, either. Not here and not on the planet where my people live now," said Lion-o. "My home planet doesn't exist anymore, but they didn't have them there before it blew up. What is a PearPad?"

Freddie pulled out his pear-shaped touch screen tablet computer from his bag.

"This," he said. "It's great. You don't need a keyboard or anything. And now that they're this size, they're a lot easier to carry around. You've got games, apps for just about anything."

"That sounds pretty cool. I bet my friend Panthro would love to get a look at one," said Lion-o, taking a closer look. "Of course, he's too old to be playing games. He's no fun that way."
