Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part III

The food? Still there. The school? Still standing. Students? Still mingling.

Ahhhh. What fun this weekend was for us all. WHAT FUN. And this time it was actually the good weather for shirt removing!

Ramona gave them both a solid amount of brooding time -- since she was brooding on what the hell his problem was -- before wandering over.

"So wanna tell me what I did to piss you off?" she asked mildly, hands shoved in her pockets as she approached. "'Cause I haven't come up with it yet."

"Nope," Nathan said stubbornly, taking his cigarette out of his mouth and blowing a few smoke rings so he wouldn't have to look at her and lose his will to be a dickhead right now.

"Well, that's not helpful," she pointed out, shrugging. "I'll probably do it again. Give me a hint."

"Who says I wanted to be helpful?" Nathan asked and did look at her this time. "I'm leaving in three days. It's not worth it, remember? Just scamper along, Ramona, and keep finding excuses."

"Excuses for what?" she asked quietly, because that had thrown her before. Because she was denying that she was doing that at all. "What do you think I'm trying to excuse, here?"

"I don't fucking know," Nathan hissed, glaring, "but you're reminding at every goddamn turn that I'm leaving so it doesn't matter. Thanks, Ramona, I know I'm leaving. I don't need your reminder."

Well. At least now she knew. "Well. It's kind of hard for me to forget, too. I can just not bring it up and we can pretend it's not happening, but that seems fucking stupid to do."

"What the fuck ever," Nathan said, throwing a hand up and turning away from her because he wanted to try and be pissed and she made it hard when she was being logical. "I'll just wear a fucking sign that says I'm leaving in three days, please feel free to remind me and treat me like a fucking twat because of it."

"I didn't treat you like a twat. You compared me to an onion," she reminded him, smiling a little even if he wasn't looking at her. "You really wanna spend the next three days fighting when we could be doing other things instead?"

"Like what?" Yes, he wanted to hear the things she wanted to do with him or he was gonna force himself to be mad. He'd stomp around and be more of a prick than he usually was.

"Like...really American things. Barbecue. Bake an apple pie." Ramona was just going to random things, because she wasn't going to cave that much when he'd gone stomping off. "Baseball. Something with explosives."

"Pass," he said and continued to be stubborn because, well, she'd pissed him off and while the explosives sounded fun, he'd rather cut out his eyes than do the other shit. "Maybe find someone that's not leaving in three days, yeah?"

"I don't want to find someone else," she said, quietly. Because it was true. "We could have sex on my British roommate's bed."

Yeah, no, she just wanted his attention and knew the fastest way to get it, usually.

His attention definitely swung back to her but he didn't look like he was going to fall for that. "You wouldn't let that happen. I slept on the floor when the other bloke was around, why would this be any different."

Too bad though because christening someone's bed like that would be awful fucking fun. "British?"

"He's from London," she supplied, smiling a tiny bit. "And I would've rather had you sleep in my bed with me, you know that. I just wasn't up for being an asshole to Leo and making the poor kid uncomfortable."

Note how she still hadn't answered his actual accusation of not letting that happen. He was right, but still.

"So what, you're gonna be an asshole to Mr. British?" Nathan asked, not even thinking this could be the same British kid he'd scarred earlier in the day.

Sorry, Simon.

"What would you say if I said no, not really, but my bed isn't out of the question?" she asked, raising a brow.

Nathan stopped himself from the immediate 'yes, please' that wanted to come out. Just barely. He just barely stopped himself.

"I'm gone in three days," he said since she seemed to be fond of reminding him of that. "That doesn't make a difference to you now?"

Ramona considered him carefully, because she wanted to say the right thing here. And it did make a difference to her -- it hadn't ever not -- but she wasn't sure how to say that without making him mad at her again.

"Only because it makes me sad, and I hate that you're going," she said softly. "Okay?"

Honesty was an idea, of course. Just one she didn't often go for.

"Yeah well, I'm beginning to think it wasn't my best decision either," Nathan admitted and tossed his cigarette away. Hopefully, nothing would catch on fire from that.

"But, it's done and I have to go," he said, resigned. "Doesn't mean I wanna. And if you're gonna keep reminding me every single time as some sort of retaliation, then you'll be sleeping alone. If you wanna get me back, insult the size of my cock or something creative, for fuck's sake."

"Hard to do," Ramona said, offering a slight smile.

That was the closest he was getting to an apology, probably. Her saying something nice about his penis because she knew it would make him happier.

Romance at its finest, right there.

"Flatterer," Nathan said but couldn't really deny that he didn't like those compliments best. "You just wanna see it tonight."

"We probably shouldn't actually kick poor Simon out his first night here," she noted, eyeing him. "I'm not that mean. Besides, whether I wanna see it or not, I owe you some compliments about your dick. You said God'll like my boobs."

"Keep complimenting then," Nathan suggested and actually did give the front of his pants a little pat like he was appreciating his dick too. He was pretty fond of it so of course he thought it deserved appreciation from all sides.

"Mmm, no, I think that's enough. Your ego's fine where it is, and you stopped looking so goddamn pissy at me," she said, shaking her head. "Besides, I have to save something for the phone sex," she added, arching a brow at him.

Which probably wouldn't happen, but she could tease.
