Study Hall -- Friday, October 28th

Sarah isn't in the room, but the words "Help yourself" have been hastily scribbled on the blackboard. There's a stereo playing incredibly random music on her desk, along with some junk food and pizza, a TV with a video game hookup, and a pool table that has almost magically appeared in the corner. The puppies are wide awake and playing under Sarah's desk. It's almost as if she's bribing the students.

"Dude, these girls are way too good at hitting us." Cameron winces as he looks at Anders' lip.

"Ah sorry, Rogue." He gives Rogue an apologetic smile.

Rogue shrugs. "No offence taken. I'm glad my girls can defend themselves. Or, you know, take out agression on unwitting males." She says the last with a wink.

"Oh yeah, me too." Cameron nods and rubs his cheek which might have gotten hit very recently.

Anders scowls. "I think it was contagious last night, man. To top it all off, after Kara decked me Cally tried to go after her and I got in the way."

Cameron blinks. "Sounds like one fun evening, man."

Anders looks at him tiredly. "Oh yeah. She got all upset about accidentally hitting me. And you know what it's like dealing with Cally when she's crying."

Cameron knows all too well and nods. "It's like kicking a puppy."

"No kidding. If there's anything I hate to see . . ." Anders grimaces. "I felt horrible."

"You're the one who got hit!" Cameron shrugs. "I'm sure you were the right guy to comfort her."

Anders smiles goofily and turns a little bit red. "I hope so. Man, it would've been the cutest thing ever if she hadn't been so upset." He pauses and looks at Cameron. "Any luck with Vala?"

Cameron shakes his head. "Nope. She didn't come out this morning and I had to go to an early class. I'm sure she took advantage and fled the room when I was gone. I'll have to catch up with her and do the poppy act during Archaeology."

"Good luck, man." Anders smiles sympathetically and hands him another gumball.

"Thanks, I think I'll need it."

"Yeah." Anders fiddles with the lid of his coffee cup, thinking, and finally says, "Thinking I might make myself kinda scarce this weekend, or for the next week or so. Not really wanting to even see Thrace or Adama any time soon. But just so you know, it's not you guys I'm avoiding."

Cameron frowns. "Alright. Not that I agree, I mean, take a distance from them but that doesn't mean you've got to avoid everyone else."

"I'll try not to. Just, y'know, if they show up somewhere and I suddenly leave. Don't need to drag anybody else into it."

"Gotcha. It's between you guys," Cameron shrugs. "Not that I've talked to Kara or Lee a lot lately. Seems I'm too busy trying to keep Vala from getting pissed at me. Which really isn't working well."

Anders shakes his head. "What is it with this place and people's tempers, dude? Can't even turn around in the hall any more without somebody blowing up at somebody else."

"Maybe it's the parents thing," Cameron suggests with a shrug. "There's always something going on around here. Emo waiting to pounce you around every corner and drag you off into an emo-coma."
