Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II
In order to give people a place to get away from the traffic jam of the buffet and information tables, most of the chairs and tables had been set up further out on the lawn, away from the school building. The bonfires were going strong, and there was plenty of room for everyone to sit down and enjoy themselves. Assuming they weren't too busy still trying to figure this place out.
[OCD is up! This is the FIRST post for general mingling. Please use this post first, if your browser can handle the comment load. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here and there's more room for mingling here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Re: General Mingling [Spring 2011]
Then he straightened up and said, "But yes, checking with a teacher is probably the proper starting point. Who's teaching the powers class?"
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2011]
Although now Momoko was wondering what he was doing that he knew that.
"I think it's Centurion? I'm not totally sure. I'd have taken the class no matter who it was."

Re: General Mingling [Spring 2011]
"I wonder if magic counts as a power?"
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2011]
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2011]
"So, why aren't you taking that class if you're going to be fighting at home? Do things not have powers where you're from?"
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2011]
The key words were 'right now.' He had some knowledge that it would change in time, but he could prepare for that later. He needed to build the strongest foundation possible first.
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2011]
"GOTHAM?!?"
How had she not known he was from Gotham? She totally had to watch what she said, now! At least until she talked to Dinah again. Or Roy. If Roy was even talking to her anymore.
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2011]
If it got that kind of reaction from her, but she was unfamiliar with the name 'Bruce Wayne,' it seemed unlikely.
But if she was familiar with the name 'Wayne' from, say, a certain manor, it was entirely possible that a person with all of that information might realize that Bruce was one of those Waynes.
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2011]
"No? At least, not that I've ever heard of, but I've been there? I have, uhm, other friends from there. I totally didn't know you were, too!"
Momoko was busy running through her conversations with Dinah and trying to remember if she'd mentioned Bruce... Ah!
"EH? WAYNE?!" As in the Wayne Foundation, Wayne Towers, Wayne Manor (with the comfy princess bedrooms and Mr Alfred)... Oh, now she REALLY needed to talk to Dinah.
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2011]
"Yes, I'm that Bruce Wayne," Bruce said maintaining his even tone. "And I'm from a different version of Gotham, apparently years before anyone else, so the Gotham I know is probably a lot different than the one you know."
It was probably up to interpretation if the next statement was a request, a plea, or a threat, but regardless, Bruce felt the basic point would be clear if he lowered his voice just a tiny bit. "I'd appreciate it if we could keep it that way. I want my future to be my own."
[OOC: I couldn't get to sleep while thinking about this ping. But it's done! SP to make sure we do whatever else needs to be done justice? :D]
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2011]
"I already messed up with Roy, so I totally understand!" Not that she knew how she'd messed up, but she had. "I don't know about you, but I totally know your family's name, so I'll be careful! Can I ask a strange question? Is it pretty, your Gotham? I mean, the one I know is pretty, but it sometimes seems really dark. Almost like it's hiding a sad secret."
[silly! Go bed! and I am always up for SP! JUSTICE!]
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2011]
"It was. Maybe it still is, but I have trouble seeing it that way," Bruce admitted. "But I plan to do what I can with the Wayne family name to bring it back to what it was, even in my eyes."
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2011]
"The Gotham I know is awesome, don't get me wrong, okay? I mean, I have the same problem when I look at stuff about Tokyo in this world; it's just totally not like it's happy with itself." She shrugged, resignedly. Different worlds were so weird. "I do think it's great that you want to help, though! I'm always getting asked to do public service announcements about recycling and citizenship by the mayor's office."

She rolled her eyes. "We only fight the monsters, so I guess he thinks we have a lot of free time and owe him, or something." She was fond of the Mayor, but not the politics.

Re: General Mingling [Spring 2011]
Although this did help him formulate a solution to how he could fight someone like, say, Clark if a mind-altering fog caused him to attack again: befriend other people who were apparently massively strong. It was a simple solution, and one Bruce couldn't believe he didn't think of before.

Re: General Mingling [Spring 2011]
"Of course. Training is how you learn, so it's completely different," Bruce said, giving a confirming smile. "If you were just picking fights with people around town, that's where it's an issue."
