Library, [11/14]
Jonothon had kind of been expecting the weird mess of emotions to be faded or gone, by now. It had been nearly a week, after all, and it had taken him until Wednesday to give in to all of the psionic feedback from the rest of the island and let himself feel the same, but he had. And once he had, it was difficult to wrestle down again.
Everything seemed hotter than usual, so he'd left his jacket in his room today. And everything seemed far more constricting than usual, as well, so he'd worn one of his few pairs of blue jeans.
And now, he was doing one of the least sexy things he could possibly think of in order to keep busy in the library today. He was going through files, making certain that there weren't any books overdue. It was, after all, very difficult to be amorous when you were wrestling with a filing system.
If that didn't work, he'd go and straighten out the hunting magazines over in periodicals. Paper cuts and photos of dead animals also made it difficult to lapse into any sort of mood.

Re: Talk to Jono
But in all fairness, he doubted that whoever this Sebastian chap was, he wasn't the sort to dance with Ariel as a reward for actually putting in some practise time.
Re: Talk to Jono
"Perish the thought," she said with a giggle. "You're still as grumpypants as ever, don't worry."
Re: Talk to Jono
He'd kind of given up on trying. When he tried to be grumpy, more people tended to crowd on in to poke at the cranky mutant.
Re: Talk to Jono
Re: Talk to Jono
He shook his head a little, tucking the invitation away into the pocket of his jeans. //Some of them just come more naturally than others, I suppose.//
Re: Talk to Jono
What? It just sort of...came out.
Re: Talk to Jono
Actually, while he was wearing his wrappings, he wasn't half bad from the nose down, either. He'd been working with his powers just enough to be able to decently mimic the shape that his actual jawline used to hold, so long as it was all being held in. It didn't look quite so much like there were ragged strips of leather over a whole bunch of nothing at all, anymore.
Re: Talk to Jono
And deciding that there needed to be a hair ruffling at that point.
Re: Talk to Jono
Jono wrinkled his nose and tried to squirm away from that hair-ruffling, to little avail, and then gave his head a shake, floppy, tousled hair and all.
//When I don't end up looking like I've been caught in a tornado, you mean?//
Re: Talk to Jono
Oh, dear, was that a quirked eyebrow?
Re: Talk to Jono
... It kind of was. Not that he was going to hunt down a reflective surface to preen in front of, or anything.
Re: Talk to Jono
Re: Talk to Jono
This was Fandom. It could happen.
Re: Talk to Jono
"That's true," she admitted. "Not exactly the most private place. You'd have to go under the desk,or build a pillow fort or something."
Mmm. Pillow forts.

Re: Talk to Jono
//We?//
Not that he could deny that she was a very attractive person, and that he was probably putting too much stock into her vernacular at the moment...
He was going to reach for another one of those magazines, so that he could properly sort it. Yes.
Re: Talk to Jono
"Well," she offered in an attempt to sound reasonable about the whole thing, "who else in the library am I going to make a pillow fort with? The librarian?"
Who was ruggedly attractive, sure, but ew.
Re: Talk to Jono
//He's not exactly available, at any rate,// Jono pointed out. Because, naturally, you couldn't make pillow forts with men who already had families.
Re: Talk to Jono
"So, see?" she said. "We. It's really nice and cozy, but how would you know unless you tried?"
Re: Talk to Jono
Ariel logic was insanely difficult to argue with.
//And you figure you can find enough cushions out there to build a fort with?//
Re: Talk to Jono
Re: Talk to Jono
He looked down. Back up. Where were the pillows? The pillows were outside of the library, being the pillows their pillowfort could be made of...
//Knowing my luck, I'd smack my head on one of th'drawers,// Jono noted, thoughtfully.
Re: Talk to Jono
Duh!
Re: Talk to Jono
Or the desk...?
One of those.
//We're just building it for th'sake of building it, right?//
Again, he had to check. He wasn't exactly good at snogging, in forts or out of them. And he... vaguely suspected that he had something going on with Raven, now, though he couldn't tell anybody just what, and... lord, the way the island had been all week was getting maddening.
