Unconventional Tactics, Tuesday, Period 2
"Yo, Rookies!" Bet you all missed that, huh? Reno was grinning extra wide today, possibly because he missed you all. Or maybe for the same reason that he had left a few more buttons undone on his shirt than usual, today. Because he could. "Today, we're gonna get into some more practical crap than usual, yo. For the next couple of weeks, I'm gonna shamelessly turn these classes into semi-meetings like them three groups that have formed on this island to keep everybody all safe an' shit."
Really, it was probably a huge relief to be kept all 'safe and shit,' right?
"I ain't gonna tackle 'em in any particular order of importance, because they all three got their strengths to 'em. But I'll tackle Support today, just because I think you can all get some good outta our in-class assignment if anything smacks us hard in the near future, yo."
He nodded back toward his desk, which was full of assorted bandages and antiseptics, a few bottles of dubious-looking fluids from Reno's home, a couple of really random looking items all labelled up neatly, and a few sheets of paper with the phone numbers for the clinic and the trooper station written on them, as well as Reno's own. Under that, there was a good amount of space left to fill up with whatever else students seemed to think might be important.
"Emergency kits," he announced. "With some basic first-aid crap, some emergency contact lists for you to fill in with what you think is important- My name's on there, yo. That ain't for pleasure calls or shit like that. Call me if you got some kinda invading critter breathin' down your throat and you need a quick rescue. Unless you can think of someone better. I won't be heartbroken, so long as you make it outta there alive. And if you're feelin' brave, I got some basic healing items and some of the less dangerous attack items from where I'm from to throw in there, too."
Sorry, kids. He wasn't going to hand you any poisons or instant death items today.
"Get to it, Rookies."

Listen to the Lecture
Re: Listen to the Lecture
That would be why she was taking notes as Reno talked.

Re: Listen to the Lecture
If he asked, she'd claim it was classwork.
It wasn't totally a lie if she squinted really hard.
Re: Listen to the Lecture
She might even take notes!
Re: Listen to the Lecture
Re: Listen to the Lecture
She'll totally get around to paying attention. Eventually.
Re: Listen to the Lecture
What? The guys should totally at least have a bra or something in theirs.

Make an Emergency Kit
Also sitting on the table, for those feeling a little more brave, are a small assortment of potions, ethers, and antidotes, which will each do a one-time cast of simple healing spells, magic-restorative spells for anyone who might wear themselves out casting, and, of course, a catch-all poison cure. And for the really, really brave, he's got a couple of one-use attack items set out, too, all labelled ridiculously neatly, thus proving that Reno can be less slobby if only he wants to be.
Impaler - Throw at an enemy to turn them into a frog. Or, alternatively, turns you back to normal if you happen to be a frog. Will wear off overnight.
Shrivel - Shrinks one enemy to about a couple of inches tall when thrown at them. Restores true height if used on people who have been shrunk, too. Will wear off overnight.
Ink - Throw at an enemy to blind them. Will wear off overnight.
Dream Powder - Puts one enemy to sleep when thrown at them. Yes, they'll wake up eventually, so don't hang around for long after you've used it on something.
You can take all of the generic first-aid stuff you want, but please limit yourself to one each of the potions, ethers, and antidotes, and pick just one out of the other four items if you want any at all. Bandages are cheap. The items from Reno's home currently are not.
Re: Make an Emergency Kit
Finally, she decided that she would feel more comfortable if she took the Dream Powder instead of anything else. She figured that it was the least dangerous if someone got a hold of her bag by accident.
Though, she was also contemplating the Impaler or Shrivel -- mostly because of the bitch she had met over break. Of course, if she used Shrivel on her, then Tori would be too tempted to stomp her into a flat stain on the sidewalk.
Dream Powder it was.
Re: Make an Emergency Kit
Unfair!
She did, on reflection, take a Shrivel though. Thoughtfully. It didn't have to be used on an enemy, right?
(Ino's priorities, they were odd.)
For the rest of the stuff, Ino contemplated longer. She had her own kit, and she was a healer anyway. But that didn't make having things around less useful. Hmmmm.
Re: Make an Emergency Kit
Of the four special potions, she wasn't sure what to take. She certainly wasn't going to blind someone or turn them into a frog, even if it were only temporary. And she could use her own gifts to make someone sleep if she wanted. So she finally settled on the Shrivel, deciding she could use it on herself in an emergency situation, not on someone else.
Re: Make an Emergency Kit
The Impaler was pretty neat, too. It seemed like the most harmless way to get the job done.
Re: Make an Emergency Kit
Finally she took a dream powder. It could be used to knock someone out for medical reasons or in a fight, and she liked the double purpose.
Re: Make an Emergency Kit
...those got stashed pretty far down in the bottom of the bag.
She had her phone out on her desk and was scrolling through the contact list, looking between that and the contact sheet for any numbers that she thought should be on one or the other.
Re: Make an Emergency Kit
She also added a few names and numbers to her list of emergency contacts.
Re: Make an Emergency Kit
He added bandages and ice packs (he got knocked out a lot), the poison cure (smugglers were big on trying to poison the air around Jedi, especially), and the Shrivel. He figured if it came down to it, he could finagle the same effects of Ink and Dream Powder using the Force.
Re: Make an Emergency Kit
Hmmm. Zack didn't seem to have a problem getting them, they were just kind of expensive. She wondered if she could set up a relay thing, where she bought Ethers off Zack and turned around and gave them to Reno.
Okay, so figuring out the logistics of such a thing probably weren't how Reno intended for her to spend the rest of class, but it was related! Ish!

It would be after the crisis is over that she'll fall apart.

Oh, come on. Weasley totally had it coming to him.
