"You were one of the lucky ones then," Alex grinned. "What did your dad have to say?" Hopefully all good things, whether it was about Wesley or Fandom itself.
She could only imagine what her father would have to say about the school and the island.
"He said... well, a number of things, but for the most part he seemed impressed," Wesley said vaguely. Because elaboration would just kill him, apparently.
"Did you - ah - advise your parents not to come?"
Because if he'd known about PW in advance, he would have so tried that.
If Alex had met Wesley's dad, she probably would've known better.
"An impressed parent is a win in my book," Alex admitted. "In a way? I don't think they ever got the notice about Parents' Weekend." Which worked to her advantage in the end. If they had gotten it and decided not to come, well, that would've been worse.
