Library [10/03]
Jono was in the library. And, fortunately for Jono, the library had decided that it was going to behave itself today while he was in. Because Heaven only knew that he would have had a Hell of a time trying to explain something like tap-dancing periodicals to the visiting normals with only the benefit of some very creative charades, and a Speak'n'Spell.
... Look, if the squirrels were going to shove the blasted thing at him, he was going to make use of it.
The hippopotamus goes, "Hruuugh!"
As ridiculous as it was.

Re: Mod Your Library!
Of course, it left him with more than a little time on his hands, and, as much as he enjoyed picking up a book and reading from time to time himself, if he was to be leaving the island today, it wouldn't do for him to begin to read something that they didn't publish in Midgar, and that he wouldn't be able to finish in a day. And so he wandered through the library instead, to pass the time.
Which was how he noticed the Turk. And frowned. Hadn't Genesis said that the one on his case was a male?
"Exactly how many of you are there, on this island?"
For a SOLDIER approaching a Turk, the tone was downright friendly, really.
Re: Mod Your Library!
No?
Rosalind was very very glad for the fact that, of her and her sister, she was the composed one. The cool and collected one. The one who was going to just go a bit pale even as one eyebrow shot up.
"I'm sure I don't know what you mean," she replied. Aloof. Professional. "Surely the presence of Turks is nothing new to you."
... Wishing her book wasn't hideously purple and sparkly.
Re: Mod Your Library!
"Not in Midgar, perhaps," Angeal allowed, in a voice that carried a weight behind it that would make the Buster Sword seem light. "But on an island where a SOLDIER operative has been planted for reconnaissance purposes, I wouldn't think that the company would see fit to throw a couple of Turks into the mix as well."
Yes, Lazard was definitely going to be hearing about this.
Re: Mod Your Library!
Rosalind's eyebrow arch got just a little higher. "Like yourself, many of us are here for the weekend."
Not her though.
Re: Mod Your Library!
He wouldn't attack a Turk. Of course not. She was simply here doing her job, after all. But he was a SOLDIER, one of very few who was considered elite even among the elite, and with that rank came a certain expectation that he would see respect, as well.
"How long has the company had Turk operatives on the island?"
Re: Mod Your Library!
"Two and a half years," Rosalind replied, her voice very dry. "This is a long term area of investigation."
Considering she had... two and a half years left until graduation and Tseng was making no move to permit the resumption of active duty. "Current Turks assigned for the duration on island: two. Current Turks on the island: six."
Re: Mod Your Library!
"Two Turks on assignment, and four visiting," Angeal noted, furrowing his brow slightly. "And to what end? One SOLDIER operative is more than enough to assess the possibilities that an island like this one presents. Why waste the manpower?"
Re: Mod Your Library!
That was, really, about as clear as she was going to get.
Re: Mod Your Library!
"Multiple operatives, from multiple... dimensions?"
Really, the explanation was right there in the word.
Re: Mod Your Library!
In others--not so much.
Re: Mod Your Library!
"Of course." Angeal shook his head, turning to look toward the stacks. "Regardless of the reasoning, I will be having a talk with the Director. We can't afford to lose any 1st Class manpower to one of the President's little pet projects."
Re: Mod Your Library!
Even through intermediaries.
Re: Mod Your Library!
Unlike SOLDIER 1sts, of course the Turks wouldn't have that sort of authority.
Or that sort of backbone.
Re: Mod Your Library!
She sniffed, turning back to her book.
