Loki wasn't showing any signs of wear from the conversation he'd had yesterday. Fuck that shit, he wasn't going to look like he'd been exhausted by some conversation that brought his past all the way back up again. He had a class to teach.

Said class was in the Danger Shop today, giving them access to what Loki needed them to have access to.

"So, we're all back," he said, giving them all a sarcastic round of applause. "Congratulations. Hopefully we'll have an easy class for you today. No, it's not a fucking movie. Being a badass isn't just adapting to the world around you. No, you've gotta fucking look the part. If you're gonna be going around in cut off jean shorts and a ratty old t-shirt, you'd better be willing to get laughed at or stared at because no one's really gonna think you're all that awesome. Yeah, you might be able to change minds once you prove yourself but first impressions are valuable and that kind of thing isn't gonna give you a great first impression."

Loki hit a few controls on the Danger Shop and brought them back to the large, expansive mall that had everything they needed.

"Today, you're shopping. Go find clothes. Go find clothes that you think make you look all badass and awesome. Find 'em, buy 'em, and come back and tell me why. That's all you gotta do. If I tell you I don't think it works, you can go back in and find something else. Have fun."

Wesley was having a hard time getting the concept of trying to look "badass." As he understood it, dressing up for any particular purpose extended to putting on a suit. So he did. Why would he want to dress anything but formally when trying to make an impression?

"You look like a door to door salesman," Loki said, more trying to get Wesley to tell hi, why he'd chosen the suit.

Fail.

"I do?" He looked down at his clothes, trying to tell if that was true. He'd never seen a door to door salesman, but he supposed it would make sense for them to wear suits. "I was - I was simply trying to look professional and dignified," he explained, still looking at his clothes as if they would reveal something. "As I understand it, the best way to set a good impression is to appear professional."

Poor Wesley. Loki managed not to laugh but he couldn't completely hold back a snicker.

"And the suit is professional but does that equal being a badass motherfucker?"

Wesley tilted his head, genuinely confused. "I'm sorry, a what?"

Yeah, he clearly had no idea what class he was taking.

"The point of the lesson, Wesley," Loki said, eyes widening. "You're not here to look like a door to door salesman. You're here to look like a badass motherfucker."

This was news to Wesley.

"Oh." He nodded. Comprehension dawned, and he tucked the suit jacket over his arm, said "Just a moment," then scurried off to find something else.

He returned in a dark shirt, a leather jacket and way-too-tight leather pants (http://img1.sidereel.com/_episodeimage/1b50.1.10.jpg), clearly very pleased with his selection.

"That's...a different look for you," Loki allowed, nodding. "What's it make you feel like?"

"Well..." He lowered his voice. "It rather chafes."

"If you look uncomfortable, no one's going to think you're anything but compensating for something you don't have," Loki said, lowering his voice too. "It's a look that you have to own."
