Dear class. I apologize for my absence. The brethren have called me into the field and I am tactically doing away with a little annoyance of ours. ~~His name is Thor, btw. HAHAHHAHAHAH~~. Please take a copy of the reading Johnny Mnemonic by William Gibson. This short story – made into a deliciously terrible film staring the illustrious Keanu Reeves – is actually quite good and is a morality tale about the dangers of mixing the human brain with cyborg components. It also has a skeeeerrryass dolphin. And the best female character ever written. ~~OMG PROTO-TRINITY HOW I WORSHIP YOU.~~

Also, I must note if you enjoy the story, the conclusion is in Gibson’s novel Neuromancer.

Is she gonna kill someone 'we' know?

Sam whispers, "Thor's the one who named the ship after Jack. ~~Y'know, the one that I blew up? He's also related to Loki (the one who shrunk us) somehow. Now, if she were off to kill Loki? I might hand her the P-90.~~"

"Can we stop her? Or at least put in a call to Colorado and get them to stop her? Do you think she'd melt or fry if we poured a bucket of ~~acid~~ water over her?"

"You call this time. I called them for the last thing. Too many of those and the General will stop picking up the phone when he sees my number." ~~"I hear liquid nitrogen is good for these kinds of situations."~~

Kawalsky pulled out his cell phone, found the number in his phone and called it while still in class.

"This is Charles Kawalsky.. uh.. Charles Kawalsky Junior for the General please. Yes, it's an emergency. Password? Um.. Conundrum." He waited. "General, this is Charles Kawalsky. Yes sir, the dead one who's not dead anymore. Classes are just fine sir, thank you for asking. I'm in Cyborg Theory right now. Yes, I'm calling from class. The teacher, the one that looks like Lt Colonel Carter, just left. Yes sir, she said she was being recalled to go kill a little guy named Thor. I believe you know him. Yes sir. Just thought you should know. Okay, talk to you later sir. Bye." He looked over at Sam. "Done. He says hi."

"Great," Sam replied, weakly. He really...yes, he really did just do that in the middle of the hallway, on an unsecured cell phone.

She needed a drink.

[*dies and is dead*]

"What?" He looked around.

Sam covered her eyes with her hand and mumbled under her breath, "Is Classified just a word to you, Charlie?"

Kawalsky thought about it for a moment. "Evil teacher that looks like you going to kill little guy named Thor. That's not so much classified as it is the pilot for a new sci-fi series." He grinned.

Sam chuckled, somewhat unwillingly. "It's the call to the General part on an unsecured cell phone that's a little disturbing."

"Oh. Well, yeah. But every good godson should ~~report in~~ call godfather General Hank to tell him when crazy fembot ladies are gonna kill one of his friends. I.. really don't know what I'm saying." He offered a colorful packet of candy. "Skittle?"

"Thanks," she said, putting her hand out.

Kawalsky dished out some Skittles. "So.. you got a minute to talk? I was talking to John Connor last week and he kinda came out with some pretty heavy stuff. Said he told you too."

So who's this Thor person?

"Errr..." Sam looked to Charlie, although she wasn't sure to trust him with a smart ass remark after the phone call he'd just made.

"You know, the comic book hero? The one with the blonde hair and the big sledgehammer?"

"I know about the mythological god figure named Thor -- there's a comic book hero version as well? But then...who is our professor setting off to kill?"

"The comic book one. ~~The one with nicer hair than you.~~"

But...he's not real.

"Just because there's a comic about him doesn't mean he's not real in some universe. ~~Look at The Tick.~~"

"The actor who played him in Adventures in Babysitting. She's a big fan, and, well, he completely butchered the part."

This would be why Sam's never put in charge of the cover story.

Lee looks at Sam a little funny. "What?"

"Um, never mind," she says, blushing. That explanation isn't going to do anything but make her look even more stupid than usual.
