Library, Friday - 8/6

With everything that appeared to be going on around the island, Blackagar was almost glad to be at the library where things were still in their place. Since, there was very little else he could do to assist, he was dipping into the stacks to look for any books on the subject of disappearances.

...which somehow left him with a large stack on the Bermuda Triangle.

Less than helpful, really.

Medusa didn't actually give a damn about the tears in reality. For all she knew this was just a thing that happened to humans from time to time. Thinning the herd, or something.

Just as long as Blackagar wasn't one of the people it happened to, that was. So Medusa was just going to be here, flipping through books on Germany and shooting him a look every few minutes to make sure he hadn't disappeared on her. Disappearing on her would be inexcusably inconsiderate.

Did she look like she'd sustained head trauma lately? No. So the likelihood of her disappearing was really quite low.

"It is good to see you well this morning, my lord," Medusa said. 'And not fallen through a hole in reality,' went unspoken.

Well, at least as long as they were both here, if they fell through a hole in the universe they might do so together.

Medusa mentally slapped herself for being such a hopeless sap and corrected that to 'she could use her hair to yank Blackagar out of the hole in reality.' "I'm still working on Germany," she murmured. "America will be next, of course."

Medusa opened her mouth to answer, then closed it, then admitted, "I'm working on that part."

Scully was looking under physics, metaphysics, magic, and meltdowns for any idea of what was going on out there; and then looking up all transcripts of the Radio broadcasts, for some small hope that there was an explanation for this.

Not a reasonable one. But she'd take an unreasonable one, at this point.

Things were getting worse on the island. Jonas didn't know why or how but he did know he didn't want to stay in his cabin. He made his way carefully to the school, dodging rips that seemed to be blotting out the sky, until he was safely inside.

Once there, he started into the aisles of books, looking for anything that might be helpful to the current situation.

Henry bustled around the research tables, quietly making sure there were plenty of pencils and notepads for everyone. He read a bit, sporadically, but didn't even know where to start looking for information on any of this. So mostly he hovered.

It was ironic, he realized, that the guy who made a habit out of disappearing into thin air was utterly useless when it started happening to other people.

Something was certainly rotten in the state of Fandom! Alexander, with his natural compulsion to figure it out and expel whatever it was, had only minimal luck in trying to search the town. Creatures and random voids did put a hinder on that, so he hoped he could find something out at the library, if only what others might have figured out or if others had been inclined as he had been to look into the matter.

Both before the meeting started and after it was in full swing, Karla was in the library, trying to find something that might help.

Turns out "holes in reality" weren't in the card catalogue. Dammit.

Things were disappearing around town. People, too. Great. Angua was there, eying the books, eying the crowd, and rubbing her head forehead a great deal.

This whole thing would be so much easier if the voids weren't creating these weird gaps in her sense of smell, and she was fighting the desire to just transform and see what kind of damage she could do out there. She knew well enough that that could only be trouble...

She clung to a coffee and kept her ears perked for any sign of news. It beat dealing with the phone calls.

Holes in reality. No wonder it felt like things crawling under her skin; no one was more in tune with the fabric of reality than a Coralian. Anemone's entire existence had been brought into being for her to rend reality asunder.

Which meant she didn't take kindly to someone else attempting it.

Books, in-and-out of Special Collections, and Anemone had brought a huge basket of cookies and small cakes. Research was hungry work, and as much as she would have liked to go out dancing with their visitors, this was where she was needed.

Anyone interested in showing up for the Reserves meeting (being quietly held in the library, too) can do so here.

Many thanks to the library staff for agreeing to let the Reserves use the space.
