I've not had much reason to,.as of yet, have a large collection of my own. [The Doctor watches Methos' back, still smiling.] Though considering my reasons for coming in to date have all involved defensive mechanisms...are you sure you don't have a Secret Lair somewhere underneath Special Collections?

I have no bloody idea what's below Special Collections. Given that the last time I went in there the walls were painted with dancing pink elephants -- and they were actually dancing, mind you -- I'm not sure I want to know.

*rummages some more* Janet, where on earth do you hide the library cards? Figures that the only one I could find on my own was the one I gave to Angelus.

[The Doctor smirks and lightly drums his fingers on the desktop as he watches Methos dig for the library cards. He's enjoying this far too much.] Pink elephants...well, I suppose you could work with that decor, given time.

Janet smirks, goes over to the drawer Methos is looking in, and pulls out a library card for the Doctor. "Here you go," she says, holding the library card out to Methos. "Now, who's your favorite library assistant?"

"You are, Janet. What would I do without you? Oh, yes, end up in a huddled ball on the floor of the library, surrounded by unfilled applications, rocking." Methos grins at her.

"I know," says Janet, laughing as she hands him the Doctor's library card.

[The mental image makes the Doctor smirk. He watches them, waiting.]

[He takes the card, accidentally-on-purpose touching Methos' hand while doing so.] Brilliant, thanks.

And I'd love to see what your idea of reprimand would be. I'm sure you're creative.

[The Doctor's eyebrows go higher, and he keeps smiling.] I shudder at the thought, I assure you. I'll be good.

It's not the only thing that's thick.

Well, that's no fun. [[Okay, you officially got me to blush at work.]]

I was thinking... I heard that there are some new businesses opening in town. Among them a art and culture museum. I love to poke around such things and see what items of mine might end up there. Would you be interested in visiting it?

[He looks contemplative.] Well, I COULD be bad. After all, I'm terrible at returning items on time...but I always pay my fines.

Me--Adam, I'd be delighted. Museums are always fascinating, a product of both the past and the present. and we could so talk about being old men and flirt in a very subtle but awkward manner.

"He nearly was," says Janet, noticing the Doctor watching them. "Hordes of students, and I walked in just in time to watch the poor man fleeing." She snickers. "However, my natural hatred of disorganization compelled me to climb up on the main desk and force everyone into sort things into some semblance of order."

[He smiles at her.] Would you say you got the best end of the deal, Ms Fraiser? I mean, the ass-watching would totally be enough for me. Data entry can be tedious.

Janet grins. "Let's see, I get to tell students to stay out of Special Collections when they're looking for books on dark magic, mind control, or other unsavory topics; I can point anyone I don't feel like helping toward the card catalog--" She gestures to a giant, dusty monstrosity that is presumably the card catalog. "--and I get to watch Professor Sarcasm here get let loose on the students. It more than makes up for the data entry. Plus the ass watching is nice too."

What can I say--it's always good to enjoy your work. Particularly when one has that kind of entertainment.

"Absolutely," agrees Janet, a small smile on her face. "Plus I get to meet the faculty that way and watch the flirting, which is constantly amusing."

Janet watches him, wondering if he's ever handed out a library card. She could tell the professor where they are, but that wouldn't be nearly as much fun.
