Inventing for Dummies; Sixth Period, Thursday [ 07/22 ].

Just like last time, there were four clearly marked boxes in front of the classroom today, and Farnsworth stood there as if waiting for more people well after the four students had already shown up. Then he seemed to come back abruptly from whatever random trip his mind had gone on, frowned to see people he was supposed to teach there, and sighed. Better get on with it...

"Some may say," he said, "that necessity is the mother of all invention. And that's crap! If you get right down to it, it's laziness. Laziness is the reason people bother making things. We like things that make our lives easier, like remote controls and the latest iPhad, adult size diapers and baby cages. So your assignment for today is to take your box of stuff and invent something that makes life easier."

He pushed one of the boxes forward a little, and then pointed to a recliner chair in the corner. "I'll be over there, if you need me. Taking a nap. Because that makes my life easier."

And probably theirs, too, really...
