Just like last time, there were four clearly marked boxes in front of the classroom today, and Farnsworth stood there as if waiting for more people well after the four students had already shown up. Then he seemed to come back abruptly from whatever random trip his mind had gone on, frowned to see people he was supposed to teach there, and sighed. Better get on with it...

"Some may say," he said, "that necessity is the mother of all invention. And that's crap! If you get right down to it, it's laziness. Laziness is the reason people bother making things. We like things that make our lives easier, like remote controls and the latest iPhad, adult size diapers and baby cages. So your assignment for today is to take your box of stuff and invent something that makes life easier."

He pushed one of the boxes forward a little, and then pointed to a recliner chair in the corner. "I'll be over there, if you need me. Taking a nap. Because that makes my life easier."

Not that there's much of one, but you have to admit, he has a point about the baby cages.

Below are the lists of which random things you have to make something of convenience with:

Peter Bishop: a pink ladies' Bic razor, a can of Mountain Dew, a Right Said Fred 'I'm Too Sexy' single cassette, a used sprinkler from the Forth of July, a turtle shell, two matches, and a pair of rainbow suspenders

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III: a squeaky bone, a rubber chicken, a dead fish, a turkey baster, jumper cables, a bottle of water, a lead pipe, a candlestick, and some rope

Denise Sausage Fest Inhibitor: a copy of the dictionary, three Matchbox cars, a Jasmine Breeze scented candle, a ball of yarn, a ballet shoe, a Rubiks cube, and a big rock

Edmund Pevensie: a mood ring, a Cameo broach, a snorkle, a flashlight, a roller skate, a Phillips head screwdriver, three oranges, a Knight chess piece, a VCR, and a funnel

And, as with last time, there's a supply of duct tape, batteries, and any suggestion of remaining sanity in each box.
